I, too, was surprised to see him taken off but that's the way Dyche works, he wanted to get MacNeil on so the obvious choice is Brady who was out on the left.

Re: Burnley v Manchester United - Match Thread

I know they're a better team with better players but our ball retention in the last 60 mins of that game was zero. Nothing from midfield at all and our two upfront are playing like cart horses.

Good performance first half hour but we've been giving ball away in midfield in last fifteen mins and they have got on top. I can't understand why Friend didn't see Shaw's foul on jbg straight away: I saw it from 1400 miles away.

Talking of Subbuteo, have you ever wondered why it is called Subbuteo, because the name isn't really football related? In 1947 when Peter Adolph, its creator filed a patent for the game he wanted to call it "Hobby", but this was already a registered trademark. Being also an ornithologist he looked a...

They used to sell the bitter on draught in the Miners (don't know if they still do) so I tried one because of the name. It was a cracking, creamy pint.

I think I have posted this on here before but it's a little bit of trivia. When we say "Pendle Hill", we are actually saying "hill hill hill". It stems originally from the Cumbric word pen for hill. In the 13th century the Old English word hyll meaning hill was added an it was known as Penhyll. In m...

If Cork can get back to full fitness quickly I would prefer to see Brownhill and Cork in midfield. Without doubt it's an area to improve as soon as possible, our defence is as good as most in the PL...
