I’ve not seen MOTD2 or any of the fallout since the game, but I posted on the daily football thread at the time that it was a ridiculous decision to allow Luiz to play on. It showed a total disregard for player safety.

Why is it bizarre? Some seem to think playing attractive football is important, when actually it should only be about results. Sport is all about winning, nothing else. With all due respect not sure you are qualified to give that kind of advice. As you well know you can afford to lose money if those stocks don’t do well - they are presumably all in the medium or high risk categories. I feel the problem re McNeil is he's always unsure whether to stick or twist. He's getting caught between his natural instinct to attack and his instructions to track back and defend AND when he has the ball to look after it and do the safe thing. That may be true, however if the authorities were really serious about fixture congestion, then tough decisions needed to be made prior to the start of the season, and delaying international friendlies could have been one of them, I suspect that the main reason they choose not to make this call was...

Arteta was outclassed there. He had a better squad of players at his disposal but just didn’t have an answer to the way Leeds played. The sending off didn’t change much, in some ways it may have saved Arsenal a point because I think they were more for the taking 11v11.
