Re: Why we are going down
All I can say is that mine are never ever that we will beat the top 8 or so in the league. I always go in to them expecting a loss. Below that I’m a bit more hopeful and confident. It's right that we can never go into a game against the top teams expecting a win. However, barring a miracle at Spurs...

Re: I’m so sick of Kompany
I think we'll likely be fine next season and win it.
The concern though has to be that Kompany believes in huge turnover every summer and will want to do it again. Can we afford it and can he get it right a second time, given how badly wrong he got it last summer?

Re: How did your predictions pan out? Hands up, mine didn't
I thought we'd finish in the top half. Didn't realise how crap the signings were (I knew we'd built a very imbalanced squad but didn't realise how little the expensive players would contribute) or how naive and stubborn the manager would be. Truthfully when you look at how many of the games we feel ...

When we sacked Dyche we were a team that barely won Premier League matches but had 70 million quid of players to sell and 25 million banked from selling Chris Wood. We're now a team that barely wins Premier League matches with this squad. Seems pretty likely we're worse off.

Re: Do the board really want concessionary supporters?
They don't want concessionary fans. Whatever the rights and wrongs it's self-defeating in how short term it is in the thinking. Tottenham, the example in the Guardian article, can clearly pull it off because of demand. We on the other hand are only ever about 2 lean years away from having thousands ...

In the scale of football club owners I'd say that ours aren't that high up on the dread and upset scale. I think even for the people who imagine our club can meaningfully increase its revenue abroad via Pace and JJ Watt, a 39th game abroad should be seen as a leveller in that field and not an opportunity.
