Can anyone explain why there is nothing in Burnley that pays tribute him like a statue? Surely one of the best all time cricketers the game has ever known and certainly the best sportsman to come out of Burnley.

Surely this advocates as another reason to have a safe standing area in the ground? As someone pointed out, Turf Moor is an all seater stadium but having a designated standing area would suit everyone. We might get that 2nd tier on the Bob Lord then as well!

I was a member of the Colne Clarets back in the 90s which he used to run. That was back when I used to travel with them for all away games with my dad. Alan was very warm, generous and welcoming. A great loss to all. RIP Alan.
