Re: On this day
Wow, 64 years ago and a nervous but excited 10 year old sat at home beyond his bed time to wait for news of the result. Somehow my dad found out the score. 'We've done it, 2-1,up them stairs now,' he told me. That was about as good as it got back then unless you were at the game. Wonderful time to ...

Re: Team of the Seventies question please ?
Great picture. Maybe deserves a thread of its own. Great picture, indeed. One fascinating thing for me is that over 20 players have been named on this thread, but none of the names appear to coincide with the faces of the Burnley players on the photo.......Be interesting to identify those players.

2/5/60.....
Manchester City 1 Burnley 2.
A memorable Monday night in Manchester as we clinched the Division One title. Half of Burnley was there in a gate of 65,981. Goals from Pilky and Meredith brought the curtain down on a fabulous season.

29 just seemed too bad to be true. Steve Kindon weighed in with 17 himself.
We were relegated the following season in 1970/71.

30th April 1962. A game in an exciting era often overlooked. Despite an appearance in the FA Cup Final five days later we completed a very disappointing end of season run-in with a 4-0 defeat at Sheff Wed. I understand you are putting the counter argument used by Forest rather than your own feelings on the matter. The facts are that Forest were fully aware of the rules of FSR when they joined the Premier League at the start of 2022/23. Just because they thought this meant that newly promoted sides we...

I'm not saying I agree with Forest's stance, just pointing out the facts. I am of the view that all teams should be using the same year-end for these calculations though. I'm quite surprised that Forest didn't change their y/e date to fix this themselves. Come on, aggi....the very reason Forest did...
