Re: Alan Pace - Self made man
Burnley FC must be very highly geared (debt to equity ratio). High gearing is fine when debt can be fairly comfortably serviced thanks either to low interest rates or strong predictable revenues. Football in general does not provide predictable revenues. As a result Burnley's buying spree in the sum...

Last season with 101 points and opposition managers saying that we were a very good side we had reason to be optimistic of PL survival. Sadly we have been fielding a side that is weaker than last season. One would expect that promotion leads to an improved squad but with the promotion team largely k...

Re: PREVIEW: Spurs in the cup brings back memories
I well remember us drawing Spurs in the 3rd round in early 1963 during the big freeze having only played them in the Final a few months earlier. When we won 3-0 at White Hart Lane I was convinced we would now win it as we had knocked the holders out. Very naive but then again I was only 10!

Mistakes have obviously been made with recruitment and in tactics. It is very sad that the momentum and spirit of the championship team last year has been lost and relegation is now very likely, although the other two promoted side will probably go down as well. However VK needs time to learn from t...

I have just reached 70. My first game was when my Dad took me to see Burnley play West Ham in September 1964. We sat in the old Brunshaw Road stand and Burnley won 3-2. I think I saw Ray Pointer score his last goal for Burnley.

It would be a refreshing surprise if there was a shareholders meeting in the immediate future - minor shareholders have been disenfranchised for
years. Surely we have a legal right to have an EGM given the change in the club's financial position following relegation?

I have always felt that the team that went down at the end of the 1982-83 season was relegated in part because we had played 58 games that season with the two cup runs. An excellent article. I watched Moneyball last night and Burnley are clearly in that category. The lack of signings may be linked to the possible takeover/investment that has been in the media.
