Not sure if anyone else saw it but I caught Pope's reaction at the end of the Palace game in the corner of my eye. Did a massive fist pump toward the Jimmy Mac stand and could tell it meant a lot.

does it not beg the question why the hell they are there those bottom placed teams? I agree. IMO teams such as San Marino, Gibraltar, Kosovo etc. should be placed in one bigger group to fight for a spot or two at a world cup or the Euro's. Or you could have two groups consisting of the weaker teams...

Just looking through a list. Don't think I've seen Nordfeldt at Swansea play, Maenpaa at Brighton, Eduardo at Chelsea or Lossl at Huddersfield. I haven't been impressed by Pope when I've seen him. His kicking in particular was woeful last Tuesday, with one from his hands looping out before reaching half way, and two real shanks with his left foot which only made it about 30 yards. Fed up of hearing people complain about the Hendrick fee. He's massively contributed to at least 3 wins this season. Without those 3 wins we'd be down there fighting for our lives instead of heading for a comfortable mid table finish.

You'd be correct if Matt Ritchie had missed the penalty. But he didn't, he scored it and the rules state if an attacking player encroaches and the penalty is scored then the penalty is retaken.
