Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season to end at Mainz

In Mainz or Frankfurt? Mainz is quite a hip city, has a big student population. There's a load of bars near the cathedral, they will be buzzing on a Saturday afternoon. There is also a bit going on by the Rhein with pop up bars and food stalls. The only downside is the ground is out of town, but yo...

Good article. Was looking forwards to that one. Should we not have a reference to “who ate all the fog” in there for completeness though 😀

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome

I noticed yesterday that Luka Jovic had made a spectacular return to Eintracht Frankfurt. What intrigued me was how much are they paying him ,how much for a loan fee to Real Madrid and what the average wages are in the Bundesliga. Now I realise some will say Eintracht are bigger than ourselves but ...

The singing/chanting (defiance) at 3-1 down was great. Not Derby 92 but a good statement nevertheless

Re: Ref nobbled at HT??

Taxi driver we had this morning said ref was on their side second half. Olympiakos fan. Also said we were a strong team (tough guys). Still to play for second leg I reckon. Just need a good TM night under the lights. Saw a few clarets still making the trek up to Parthenon today in 33 degree heat. No...

Update from club website: Ticket Collection: Updated. We would urge supporters to collect all tickets ahead of the game from the Divani Caravel Hotel (Athina 161 21), upon display of your passport. They can be collected between 10am -6pm on the day of the game. Any tickets not collected by this time...

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley target Kostić returns to Bundesliga

Not sure what we have missed to be honest. Now going for his third successive relegation (Stuttgart then Hamburg) so reaction in Frankfurt is ambivalent to say the least. Fingers crossed and you might get to see him in the Europa league group stage :D

Thanks, yes that's my plan now. Apparently it's possible to get cheaper multi day tickets so will give that a bash as we are there a few days.

Re: Athens: Wednesday night meeting/drinking point

The James Joyce looks a decent shout , only 15 mins on metro right outside the ground from there too .Syntagma doesn’t have that much going on really . Lad and I are gonna get the metro as don’t fancy being herded right in ( and early too )without a sample of the atmosphere . Was in Athens 2 yrs ag...

Just decided last minute to book. Anyone interested in taxi share from airport to city (close to Divani Hotel )? Landing 2140 tomorrow (Wednesday) from Frankfurt. Two of us.

Not a bad plan. I was shouting for Beasant to be brought on during Italia 90 semi final - imagine!
I think England might consider this too unsportsmanlike to do though...

Re: World Cup Wallchart

Not always a good idea for a child to have a wall-chart in bedroom. Reason being is that if you send them to bed early they will get bored and develop obsessive compulsive tendencies like counting every 'e' and every 'l' on it, or seeing how many triangles they can count. It happened to me. Made me...

Re: Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League

This (video) is a bit long long (20 mins) but captures the day from Berlin centre to stadium - posted by a club account. Interesting for me to watch as I'm somewhere in the middle of that mass of fans. For the choreo, over 100k was collected before the final in the last home games. Hence tons of fla...

Would have been a fair walk, good 4 or so miles. It is in the forest but multiple bus, tram, train combos make it not too difficult.

Re: Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League

Recommend the live feed of the team presenting the trophy to the town if its online anywhere. Obviously a bit unplanned as there is no bus and the team are split amongst a flotilla of cabriolets driving from the airport to town. Still quite cool, and about 20-30k waiting.

Re: Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League

yes. It's the World cup stadium from 2006 (England/Paraguay?). But located on the exact same spot as the Waldstadion, so different stadium, same place so to speak. But all locals and traditionalists still refer to it as Waldstadion much like we would if Turf Moor suffered a similar fate.
