Re: The Mighty Clarets v The Villains (matchday thread)

Wood Brownhill and Lowton need hooking. We need to change our approach as we are giving them nothing to think about and they are in total control.

I bought my first pint in a pub at the age of twelve, and later became a dedicated fan of Guinness, red rum and vodka (though not all in the same glass). Yet I haven't touched a drop now in 25 years. This was not a matter of 'deprivation' nor of 'extremism' - having decided I'd be better off withou...

Re: Your Burnley XI

Depends on form and it’s a close call between some players such as JBG/Brady and Lowton/Bardsley. Wood is proven but at the moment is offering nothing of note.
Currently:
Pope
Lowton Tarkowski Mee Taylor
Brady Cork Westwood McNeil
Vydra Rodriguez

BPF 8. Not a lot to do but 3 solid saves. Bardsley 8 Tarkowski 8 Long 8 Pieters 8 JBG 7 Cork 7 Stephens 7 McNeil 7 Rodriguez 9 2 goals and an assist so hard to give less Vydra 8 excellent despite the misses today he gets in great positions. We have some posters who Mark some players before a ball is kicked
Wood was outstanding up top with Barnes and held the ball up well as well as his defensive headers from set pieces
We also have some who give 9s and 10s regularly for some very average performances ;)

Interesting that on Twitter the first thing people complain about is that Wood and Barnes are starting - and don't realise or aren't bothered that Taylor is back.
Don’t use twitter but fans aren’t concerned about the defence but the attack where we have a problem.

Cheaper to buy someone for £2 million and pay 40k per week than paying £10 million and £20k week based on a 3 year deal. Probably also better for cash flow. Not saying this is the answer but just putting it out there. If a player is more talented they should be paid more. The game as a whole should ...
