Hopefully last night can be the catalyst for Barnes to go on one of his runs. He has tended to be quite a streaky striker for us historically, so it wouldn't surprise me.
I thought he was excellent last night against Matip and Fabinho, they really struggled with his 'tricks'.

Re: Table
In the next round of fixtures WBA play City, so you'd expect a City win, and Sheff Utd play away at Man Utd, so you'd expect a Man Utd win, leaving Fulham v Brighton as the most interesting fixture. So, do we want a fulham win, to keep Brighton down there and interested, or do we want a Brighton wi...

Firstly not taking anything away from our full backs who were also outstanding to a man, but, I think what we have all thought for a while needs saying once more.

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
We need a new option up front - and someone proven yet affordable. You would struggle to find a better fit than Josh King, who is also rapid which is something we hugely lack. I think that would be a top signing. If we were able to flog Vydra this month and bring in King, that’s a significant upgrad...

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Lingard gets stick for his assists/goals over the last two seasons but I would say it's probably inarguable that he would be a vast improvement on the options we have in the attacking midfield/right wing areas. If the player is willing to go on loan to a club such as Sheffield United or Burnley, tha...

Re: A thought for Sunday...dropping Barnes
The forward line have been poor to a man this season. Rodriguez and Vydra haven’t scored in the league for months, and have been totally ineffective in most of their appearances as well. I fully agree that Barnes and Wood have been poor, particularly of late. The reality is Dyche is probably looking...

I would be bringing McNeil, Rodriguez and Vydra on at half time. Barnes and Wood have been great players for us, but this form is awful and Dyche has been very patient. I had hoped the criticism they had received (even publicly from Dyche) might get a reaction, but this today is just a continuation ...

It’s the strange paradox with this team.
We go one in front, I am confident we will win. We go one down, I’m certain we’ll lose. There’s no Inbetween.

Deeney is not an exciting prospect, but Dyche would play him and he would most likely score goals for us. For all the shouting about him, he scored 10 goals in 27 league games last season for a relegated Watford team. He might be 32, but if on an 18 month contract is it really the worst idea in the ...

If Dyche doesn’t rate him (and I think it’s fairly clear he doesn’t), then it’s best for all parties he goes this window.
We absolutely need a centre forward in to replace him, and not some Nahki Wells style clear backup/pointless signing but someone to really put pressure on Wood and Barnes.

I really don’t see what Kenny would offer us. Played in arguably the worst bundesliga team of the last decade (won one game in the last 12 months) and he was bang average. So from what I have gleaned, Quaison is generally deployed in either a number 10 role or off either flank as opposed to up front. This makes his goal return very healthy, particularly for a Mainz side which is currently bottom of the Bundesliga. I also stumbled upon a quote from Mainz’s chairman reg...

Burnley 1970-Present - Best Squad of last 50 Years
The age old topic of ‘what’s our best ever squad’ has been done to death, and rightly gets dominated by the players that brought us our 1950s-60s success, in the main. This makes sense and is obvious, but makes the question almost academic/depending on when you were born. As we have ten days ago rea...

What today has illustrated is just what this season overall has.
Our front line, including wide, needs extensive investment. I would suggest we need at least one centre forward, and without question a right winger.

Not suggesting we ‘throw’ cup games, but there is too much of a coincidental style to these games over the last few years for it to not be an ingrained culture of not caring if we do actually win.
