Technically / legally, they don’t have to pay out at all. They wouldn’t last long in the bookie business if they were seen not to pay out on winning bets, though. I also don’t believe they are lying in saying that they are late in filing their accounts - that’s a factual statement. They are several months late. And yes being several months late, breaching the rules of the league and being given a transfer embargo in my view justifies criticism for the owners...

A good accountant should be able to produce a set of accounts without the information from the previous accountant, although it would involve extra work so with the deadline fast approaching might not be possible to get them done in time.

Didn't see the post either but I think it's safe to say that it woudn't have been out of character for that poster.

As for England and Southgate, winning the games they're "supposed to" is an achievement in itself compared to the previous incumbents.
