Re: The Guardian. Burnleys prediction. 2023/24
I don’t care what any of the predictions say tbh. I reckon we will finish in the top half. I think many of the teams are overrated such as Brentford, Fulham and even Brighton may not be as good as last season. There is nothing to fear from the bottom half teams from last season or the 2 other newcom...

He’ll definitely be better staying in the Netherlands when he plays for the national team. There are more brothels there for him to score in, although I doubt he’d score in one of those tbh.

The difference between Wout and our other newer strikers is that at premier league level we know that Wout doesn’t score goals so any doubt is removed. Need to get shut.

Norwich have done well then. Not hard to see why our Ash has got the best deal for himself down there. Play at the highest level you can for the biggest wage. Nice one Ash.

His level is very definitely not a division below where Norwich are playing as was proven when he was perfectly fine in a team that coasted to over 100 points. Good luck our Ash.

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your goal of the 2022/23 season
I'd not read the whole thread, but Goals are about the context. Take Robbie Blake's goal v Man Utd... He's scored miles better than that, but scoring our first Premier League goal against the Champions makes it a great goal. The greatest goals have something more about them - Rooney's overhead kick...

Or perhaps the Barnes goal scored so high because it was scored by a perfect connection to the best cross we played all season in a game of relevance.

Eurovision had its day in the 70’s and 80’s when there was nothing else to watch.
It’s a bit like if they tried a new series of fawlty towers it wouldn’t be as good and they quit while ahead with just the 12 episodes. They should’ve done the same and quit when Bucks Fizz won tbh.

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your goal of the 2022/23 season
There’s a lot of missing the point here. It would be nice to just have a poll where views are respected. The poll results will accurately reflect the best goal from the majority which is the point. The goal at Bristol was an absolute cracker in essentially a friendly match. The goal at Ewood you cou...

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your goal of the 2022/23 season
The point of these things is that people can have an opinion whether you think it’s correct or not. I’m sure players score better goals in training most weeks than we see on a match day and as such I think you should factor in pressure and significance when it comes to goals scored. I think it’s fai...

Re: Our season
Apart from the obvious at Bramhall there were one or two where we got a result against the run of play. WBA comes to mind and, dare I say it, Ewood. We could have lost either of those on run of play. At Ewood they wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing now. On run of play they got exactly wh...

Average Manager
Great Pundit
Probably time for him to be average again now at whatever he does.
Can never fully take to an ex xxxxxxx manager but they are definitely big shoes to fill as a pundit.

Definitely on another level at times today. He played quite well at points earlier in the season, for example, at Old Trafford against prem opponents but he has progressed from there. I think with a good pre season and work on his fitness we could see an absolute star next season, if we can keep him.

The 5 at Bramall Lane was not as bad as everyone made out. Their first goal is not even a corner from memory so without that they don’t score first half. It’s a different game at 2 nil at half time. Also Barnes should have played and without the short turnaround from the Wednesday game that second h...

Think you can look at this 2 ways tbh. The players getting dogs abuse for 90 minutes and then giving some back. Either way we have more h2h wins now and that’s now 17 wins 6 draws and 9 defeats since Oct 62...

There’s got to be a certain irony of that ridiculous penalty at Spurs last season that effectively sent us down for one like that tonight to get away with. As well as the karma for fatty dunns offside and other stuff when they kept their run going this is probably my favourite piece of karma.

I think the biggest thing in our favour is that neither Chelsea or Spurs are likely to be in the Champions league next season. Kompany is going to the very top and a club in the Champions league. Let’s hope that sways his decision so that we get a season out of him in the Prem.
