Re: Name the next manager
Jurgen Klopp, Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte, Thomas Tuchel, Sir Alex all never played in English football. I'm aware of that and I'm not saying that you have to play professionally to be a good coach. I think you may be missing the point I'm trying to make (or perhaps I...

Re: Name the next manager
Just checked the league. 14 th, just above Accrington and 22 points from a potential play off place. Not arguing he hasn't done well and I'm sure the people of Cheltenham are very happy with him. What type of club in the Championship could you see taking a punt on him? That's hard to say as I simpl...

Re: Name the next manager
Championship experience? His level currently is Div.1 and will remain that at best until he makes an impact in that league. I'm not sure I follow. I'm asking if people want to see Michael Duff gain Championship experience. I know his current level is League One because he's manager of Cheltenham wh...

Re: Name the next manager
I don't think its as simple as that though is it? Has he done a good job? Yes Does this qualify him for a premier league job (or a championship club aiming for promotion) No The only reason he is being mentioned is because he's a club legend Well, the answer to that second question is surely subjec...

Re: Name the next manager
Duff has done a terrific job at Cheltenham, and getting a club that size is an achievement, but I don't see how that qualifies him for a Premier League job. And that's fair enough, all about opinions. I can understand why some would perhaps want to see him gain Championship experience first. Howeve...

What exactly has Duff achieved? promotion from League Two? lol lets hire the Padiham manager then Come on, KRBFC, you're more intelligent than that. Yes, he has achieved promotion as Champions from League Two with nothing to spend. He's then gone on and kept Cheltenham comfortably in League One, ag...

Would we want him if he hadnt played for us ? Id be surprised if Mr Pace has even heard of him. This is the main argument of those opposed to Michael Duff -- I've heard it a few times already. In all honesty, no, I probably wouldn't be advocating for Michael Duff if he hadn't played for us. However...

Re: Name the next manager
What has Duff done to warrant what would be a meteoric rise to becoming manager at Turf Moor? He got Cheltenham promoted from League Two as champions on a shoestring budget. According to an article from The Guardian, the club have only paid a fee for one player (£5,000 for Alfie May) in his time th...

Sky Sports speak to Dean Marney who says that, in his opinion, Burnley may want a "young, up-and-coming manager". He mentions Michael Duff (my first choice) and Wayne Rooney.

I've completely forgotten/don't know what the issue was with Jason Blake- could someone remind me and provide insight on why people seem wary of this? I've looked up Diego Martinez. Quite an interesting career so far. Only 41 and he's not far off having managed 500 games, albeit most at a low level as he was gaining experience. Started coaching at age 20 and his most recent posts were at Osasuna and then Granada. A 47% win rate at the latter.

People act like we haven't been total crap for 18 months, most of the managers linked would've done a better job over that period of time imo. Agreed. Is Dyche the same manager he was? Would he have kept us in the Premier League? Would he have got us promoted again from the Championship? I don't th...

Based on us not appointing anybody in the 3 days since Dyche was sacked which included a match day and a couple of bank holidays?? Give me strength Yes! Well, I think it's now becoming clearer that we didn't have anyone lined up when we sacked Dyche. That makes the timing of things all the more puzzling as I assumed they'd waited until Friday because they'd already had advanced talks with a particular candidate who was perhaps bringing his team on b...

I'm very surprised at this. I said I was indifferent as to the direction we go in summer. However, I said that with the expectation Dyche would stay and be part of rebuilding the squad for the Championship. Anyway, he goes with my thanks for some wonderful memories. I'm grateful for what Dyche has done for the club and think he should have the chance to rebuild the squad this summer and adjust our style of play. I do wish that this WW transfer would finally go through. I was expecting news as I logged in. Real shame to see this fall through but certainly looks like we've tried everything we can to get it to happen. I'm a big fan of Chris Wood but I do think that is a good fee considering he's 30. On the other hand, he's a proven goal scorer in the Premier League and his exit weakens us when we're already in a tough spot. I'll be honest, I'm not as into football as I was so I'm pretty apathetic about the whole ...
