Re: ARTICLE: Peacock-Farrell signs from Leeds

Yes and he threw a few in but in goalkeeping years he is a young lad and by all accounts to be so highly thought of by several top clubs there must be something about him. Yes, that sounds fair enough. I've just had a look and found an article that compares the states of BPF and Casilla: Casilla ha...

Re: ARTICLE: Peacock-Farrell signs from Leeds

We haven’t bought a starter here. Peacock-Farrell has only started one season as no.1. He flunked the test and was dropped as soon as Leeds we’re able to sign a replacement. One for the future, but Championship reserves to Prem no.1 is a big step. Weren't they top of the Championship until they dro...

What was the total prize money last season, CT? Hopefully it can get near that or even surpass it. Not that I have any chance of being anything other than distinctly average yet again!

Re: ARTICLE: Heaton signs for Villa

Feels a bit like the end of an era (and I suppose it is in a way). And while I'm sorry to see Heaton go, I don't think this is the disaster some seem to think it is. He's an excellent goalkeeper but he won't be offered the same sort of protection at Villa that he got here with the 'framework'. We've...

Maybe Heaton won't do as well at Villa as he has with us under Dyche. I very much doubt he'll be afforded the same protection (ie from the framework) as he's had here.

Re: Heats

I knew yesterday that it was his last game with us. As Heaton applauded the stand, I took my binoculars out. I witnessed a solitary tear run down his cheek. I'm very good at lip-reading and he clearly muttered the words "Come on Tom Heaton, pull yourself together man."

Re: Heats

If the extent of our transfer window is buying Rodriguez and Pieters and selling our captain, then that's another very poor window indeed. However, I understand if Heaton wants to go (albeit I don't like the idea of selling to a relegation rival). Fingers crossed we can improve the first team before...

Re: Tarky on the move?

Good player but I'm not that fussed it he goes. If there's one position Dyche can spot a player, it's centre back. We'll always be okay in that area. Gibson comes in and we probably get a young (ish), promising player in as backup.

I can't imagine anyone should have been surprised at Chakwana being released. He was getting less and less game time last season and was clearly not in Steve Stone's plans. As mentioned above, Chakwana left Burnley at the end of last season. This surprised a few people but it seems we had to make way for some of the talent we've got coming through. He's been linked with Sunderland since leaving. Saw a vague report that he'd signed for them but not sure I'd trust the so...

Re: A lot of people aren’t fans of the new sponsors ...

I was surprised to see us fairly high up on the table. However, it does say:

These deals above are main shirt deals only and do not include sleeves sponsors (Burnley and Sheffield United aside)...

Even taking that into account, it looks like we've got a decent deal there.

I always find it exciting when we're linked with relatively obscure players from abroad, despite the fact that our record isn't great. But there's always the chance that one turns out to be a bargain and an absolute world-beater. You never know!

Is Josh Benson a central midfielder? What sort of player is he?

Edit - just watched the interview of Benson and he describes himself as a box-to-box midfielder. 'Energetic' according to Jimmy Dunne.

Re: Strong looking squad

Assuming no major outgoings (Tarkowski), I think central midfield and right midfield are the priorities. Obviously Defour's injury record isn't great and Cork's form was questionable last season. Gudmundsson is an excellent player but he's had a few injuries and Lennon just doesn't offer enough goin...

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)

Pieters would be a decent signing. Very experienced in the PL and the Stoke fans seem to think he's one of the good guys (ie not one who is going to upset the applecart). I imagine it would be a 2 year deal as he turns 31 in August. Would be decent backup for Taylor who made major strides last season.
