It was because there was no segregation so they just sort of mingled with the home fans - from memory, Spurs always seemed to bring a lot of fans too.

Re: Spurs v Burnley FA Cup 4th round 1966
The 1960 cup tie film, showed someone in the crowd wearing a University hat. He followed Burnley to a lot of games and I think he came from Cambridge and was known as the professor. He used to walk round the pitch perimeter at the Turf in full claret and blue cap and gown handing out sweets to the ...

We turned up in this fixture last season and there have been far worse performances this season than the one at White Hart Lane when we were so close to getting two or three goals.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
Such a young team.... I hope they don't get easily beaten for the sake of their own self-confidence. That's the one problem. It's good that the regular players are getting first team football and that these lads are getting an opportunity but it is a concern when there are so many of them at one ti...

Granted as one of the worst for auto correct failures on here this is a slightly ironic post. However i do like the term sunshine. Absolutely no point keeping him here. Putting Kev Long on has put all that to bed, just put him out of his misery. Christ knows why we bought him in the first place. We’d just gone 1-0 down at Everton late in the game and we had to try something to see if we could get back into it. The idea was to ...

Come on Tony, 11 million for us is a major signing and 20-odd goals in the Championship had us thinking Andre Gray was going to set the PL alight. The game time thing has shocked me bud but I bow to your superior knowledge on those stats. Are you counting ALL games or just PL? Since signing last su...

But none of these (Gibson excepted) cost the equivalent of 11m and as far as I am aware didn't come with his reputation. I'm sure there are lots of players who never made it for one reason or another but Vydra was supposed to be a major signing for us. As for Gibson he has had some game time and he...

If he is so unhappy at not getting game time (and confident that he will be able to find another 'more suitable' employer) then why doesn't he hand in his notice (4 weeks?) and become a free agent? Even if we have taken a reduced allocation I imagine we can ask for more as Newcastle won't fill the area unoccupied by us however, it is then down to the club to take the gamble on any unsold tickets which I imagine going off the first few days sales will be small.
