Ramsbottom Crusaders. Played in the Ramsbottom Youth league. But included teams from Crawshawbooth and Stacksteads. Only ever won one medal, finishing runners up in 1972 I think, could've been 74. Only scored two goals, I did always play full back.

Paper round first up for Fred Mitchell ex- Bacup wicketkeepers newsagents in Ramsbottom. Home for breakfast. Watch some tv, Swap shop. Then get ready for football. Shocking from the BBC too. I could actually see what was happening on the pitch. Not pretty at all. We could hardly see what was going on, or not as it turned out. The picture quality was poor. No idea who the commentator was, but he and his "expert" John Gregory wanted a Lincoln win from minute one.

Also Chelsea v Dirty Leeds. The replay was fierce!!
My first FA Cup tie live was Burnley v Huddersfield in 72. Lost 0-1.

I'll use the word "transitional" for this season. But in the long term I think it will be good. Two divisions with relegation and promotion will also be interesting. My one worry is that players of clubs relegated will want transfers to clubs still in division one. I think it would be a good idea to...

A minimum of 3 pts from the games at Hull, Swansea & Sunderland. 3 draws would be far better than one win and two losses. In saying that, 3 wins would be marvellous. UTC.

If we can just avoid defeat in those 3 crucial away games, therefore keeping the points gap similar, the best we can. Then we'll enter April in a reasonable position. Of course any win would be a major bonus. I think Palace will struggle, they have the top six to play yet, and of course ourselves. I...

Melbourne City in the A-League will be without 7 first team players this weekend. Five players reached 5 yellow cards last week, one was sent off last week and goalkeeper suspended for racial abuse of Besart Berisha.

A player must be cautioned for:
climbing onto a perimeter fence
gesturing in a provocative, derisory or inflammatory way
covering the head or face with a mask or other similar item
removing the shirt or covering the head with the shirt
I'm thinking not a booking.
