Re: Team to spank the saints
I suspect neither Barton or Tarks will be in the starting line up and SD may well be hoping not to have to use them from the bench as they'll be in the frame for starting on Tuesday.

I also remember being at his final ever game as a manager as it was the last game of the season at The Turf. Not certain which season though. We gave him a guard of honour I think and everyone joined in the applause. Sad to read that it wasn't so friendly afterwards on the pitch. That's a real shame.

Re: Burnley worth buying
I always forget that people on here either have one extreme view or another. There's never a middle ground, is there? The middle ground that says maybe some foreign investment would be absolutely fine without tarnishing the history, brand or name of our club. Sounds fine in theory, but very few of ...

Re: Were you here...?
I've had a season ticket since 1972, but with the exception of just 3 seasons where I just HAD to draw the line on the orders of my doctor as I was becoming suicidal!! Those were 1985/6,1986/7 & 1987/8 and I'm actually somewhat ashamed of myself in retrospect! I actually think what made that period ...

Re: Arfield and Gudmundsson
I would suggest none of us in in a position to say Bamford is crap given how little we've seen of him. I for one wish we'd seen rather more of him so that we could actually form a proper opinion, but what we can say is that SD is probably the best judge about his abilities and he really doesn't seem...

I DID want Wimbledon to beat Liverpool and was so glad when they did. It was a bit like Leicester winning the PL. It gave everyone else outside the select few some hope!

Re: Andre Gray
Gray reminds me of Johnny Francis. Takes ages to get the ball under his control and never seems to fully have it tamed, but quite capable of producing a moment of magic or destroying a defender with his genuine pace, Frustrating and exciting in equal measure, but this season tends to be much more of...

Re: Dyche mural bulldozed
Why could they not just design in a gable wall on the new building and ask Graffia to decorate it?? That would have made sense I'd suggest.
And having a mural on the Culvert would also be great, but unfortunately it doesn't really lend itself to it I'd say and it's probably "listed" in some way.

Re: Mr Dyche sorry but you are out of your depth
He's not out of his depth, but he (well our recruiting/scouting squad) need to find a few more JBG's (bargains) as opposed to Hendrick's who cost a hell of a lot more and only seem to offer the same. (PS. That's not a dig at Hendrick btw, just an observation that JBG looks like a steal and we could ...

Re: Mr Dyche sorry but you are out of your depth
I really don't think anyone can say we were lucky last season. You can be lucky now and again, but not for 23 consecutive games. IMO SD isn't out of his depth, but some of the squad are. They are being asked to step up to a much higher standard and some just cannot do it, no matter how much and how ...

Indeed an "unfortunate banner" AND we lost that final game at home to Wrexham which even though it was a dead rubber was something of a shame because my God how packed and "lively" was the Longside that day!!

I was at all 3 games, so that includes the fogged off 1st replay where we were 2-0 down after 75 minutes and the absolute "pea souper" saved us - temporarily. We all stood on the seats in the second replay, which as the Derby fans said was then staged on the Saturday afternoon of 4th round day and j...

Re: Where the season may go wrong.
I was also saying that when we played 4-5-1 against Watford on paper it looked pretty defensive, particularly for a home game and before kick off I wasn't too happy. BUT as so often happens, SD had the last laugh and we were more than comfortable winners that night. We need more of the same against ...

Re: Where the season may go wrong.
I do agree Spijed. I've been at all the games (except Soton), including the Liverpool one and we restricted them to barely any presentable chances it's true, although in other matches it really has been seat of the pants stuff. What I was trying to say is I'll be far more concerned if we end up givi...

Re: Where the season may go wrong.
I also think that there is a fair point in the OP. We have HAD to surrender 70/80% possession to the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea and United and by desperate and brilliant defending we have eked points out of a number of those games, but that won't happen week in week out. I was how...

I believe that when the British people were originally asked about joining back in 1973 they said yes to joining a relatively small group of like minded countries in a kind of closely tied trading syndicate. Fine. But by the time of the referendum it had become a conglomerate of almost 30 very diver...
