Re: Next Transfer Window
What did we think of Obafemi yesterday? should we be going back in for him in January? Offered nothing but it would be hard to judge any Championship player up against what we put out yesterday. He had one moment second half where he beat two or three showing good control before belting it over the...

Re: Next Transfer Window
I can see us signing Obafemi and O’Hare (if he has proven he is fit again). They’re clearly the two identified. Lowton needs to go, he’s far, far too good to not even be making the bench in the Championship and we have loads of good depth there. Long we would struggle to shift so I imagine he will b...

We have a fee agreed on Beyer if we go up, I believe? Pretty sure the Athletic said as much. THB I think is possible as City like to do away with their kids on reasonable fees, but with buyback clauses inserted (see the ones who went to Southampton this summer). Tella loves it here, and doesn’t seem...

Great report Tony.
We settled for testing the 'famous' Binley Mega Chippy pre-match (when in Rome) as it is around 3-4 miles from the ground. There were quite a few Burnley fans in the queue who had made the same pilgrimage.

Weghorst was gash, but he would suit this teams play I feel. For a massive bloke he couldn’t win a header - but in this system it would be into his feet and I imagine he’d look a bit more at home. Not the answer though, for me. The team seems to have a good dressing room and he (appears) to be a bit...

Coventry fans (and their drummer…) were loud for a 10-15 minute period after making their four subs and having a bit of the ball for the first time all game. It was nice to see us defend a lead for the last ten, and stroll through it as a task after the last couple of games. It’s results like today that you need to be able to grind out if you want to be in the mix.

Not sure how it appeared on TV, but they were absolute shite and created nothing - the Cov fans I spoke to going back to the car were more critical than that as well.
They had the ball for a spell but did nothing with it - can only think of the corner in the first half as a chance?

The problem as far as I can see it is that our defence is too porous, soft and short to not play Cork and Cullen, but playing Cork and Cullen means we lack enough players with the craft and guile in forward areas to open teams up consistently. My biggest confusion is how a promoted team spends £170m (approx - plus ‘free’ transfers such as Jesse Lingard, and all the wages). Yet still has Steve Cook and Scott McKenna as it’s centre backs.

Not many managers are good enough to take a team up to the Premier League for the first time in years and then keep them up at the first time of asking. Bit of credit for them from me - thought they really competed well and largely managed to stifle the way we wanted to play. Was poor for the entire game, bar the goal which was a lovely bit of play out of nowhere.
