Re: Defour to play RM
The main issue with JBG seems to be it's fairly regular low-level injuries and then when he comes back he needs several games to get back up to full speed. So whilst it doesn't look like he's missed that many games it's how effective he is in all of those games when he's actually available. Particul...

Re: Defour to play RM
Back-to-back league wins with the same team so if JBG is injured then we have to deal with it by causing as little disruption as possible - Hendrick to play there and don't change anything else. Assuming at least one of Lowton or Bardsley will be OK - put someone athletic and hard-working who unders...

To echo comments already made really don't feel we can bear any ill-will towards West Brom. They set a value on a player, 'buying' club don't meet it - no sale. Always feel the Pulis 'imprint' is all over Stoke - probably because it's associated with by far their most successful period of recent times. Allardyce would be a perfect fit for them. In addition to the money they've banked from the PL they are cash-rich from the backing of the Coates family. If h...

Would definitely recommend 'The Dark Stuff' the Nick Kent book referenced in the link above. The Barrett piece in there is very well written and insightful.

Without wishing to appear recklessly over-optimistic all logical thought points towards a win. So many of the positive traits we've come to recognise in the Dyche-era back in evidence....

Not sure the hyper-inflated January market is the right environment for investing in future players who we will not see until next season at the absolute earliest especially as we don't know which league we will be in as yet. So important to win with a convincing performance today ahead of Huddersfield. Same team - same approach. Different types of 'keeper with very different career histories prior to coming here. Little doubt that Heaton's style is better suited to the way we play. Ironic really - left at the end of last season because he couldn't get enough game time - would have been a regular starter this season. He would definitely have considerably softened the blow of missing Brady and especially Ward - in terms of the level of protection he would have given Taylor.

Southampton - if we had capitalized on our early dominance we should have had a lead to defend - which we looked capable of holding onto. I thought Wood's card was the worst of the questionable cautions. How Barnes was the only player booked following that ruckus was also mysterious.
