I wouldn't be so sure. Defoe means that you have to play a certain way. He can't really play up front on his own, nor can he play wide successfully. Their star performer last year was Josh King and I can't see him playing up top with Defoe which means he'll likely get pushed wide which significantly...

The other thing to add is that if anybody knows what it's like defending for top sides it's probably these two, with their thousand plus games played exclusively for those types of clubs.
