Incorrect. There was a hospital on Netherfield Rd (Fern Hill I think) where a lot of Nelsoners were born if they weren't born at home. It wasn't full, there was space in side pens, as far as I've read / heard. There was a little space in the left hand pen, which would have been filled by those already through the turnstiles but not yet on the terracing, there were still thousands on the street outside, as shown by the camera footage

A lot of people commenting on this thread probably weren't born when this happened, but it was shown live on TV as the tragedy developed.
