Re: Best Burnley Sunday League teams and players
Now we are talking. Ray was class - played with him at Grammar School Old Boys youth team when I was 16. We were in one of the Lancashire mens leagues on Saturdays but we had a couple of older players of which Ray was one. For Sunday league I set up St Theodore’s Old Boys. Four divisions at the tim...

Re: When Burnley and Spurs were the best
Remember going to my first ever game in September 1067 (I was 8 years old) with a couple of school pals whose dad took us to the Turf. Spurs were the current FA Cup holders and were on a 25 game unbeaten run. We stood at the front of the Longside leaning over the concrete wall at the front (on a li...

My Grandad was a barber and owned the barber shop on Yorkshire Street (opposite Plumbe St) from the 60’s until he retired around 1990 ish. All the players in the 60’s and 70’s used to get their hair cut there and we’re on first name terms with him, so he always had loads of stories to tell me! Alf ?

If it's a sink hole, I'd avoid driving down there and stick to the A roads around Towneley. As pointed out earlier, the Deer pond has been over recently, maybe that has caused it? You can always report it on "love clean streets" and that will go through to the engineers at Parker lane. Reported & k...

I spoke to one of the staff at TownEley this morning, it was his 1st day back after the Christmas holidays.
