ALK do struggle with paperwork to be fair Submitting necessary paperwork has never been a problem for ALK. But back to Venkateshrawa Hatcheries Ltd........For 14 years they have injected north of £300m into Blackburn Rovers.......What exactly have they gained from this?........this latest intervent...

Simply a ridiculous situation that was allowed to play out with the player.

After 14 years of propping up the club Venky's knew full well at that date that finance was unavailable to complete the transfer and, for that matter, any future transactions in the immediate future.

Yes, that's the thinking .... 50% up front so £9m due straight away, and the £500k fee from the sale of Ennis to Stoke was to cover the loan fee to Orlando City. By the Summer, I suspect they're hoping the Court case will be settled .. I hadn't seen the run in before, Jesus ! They need to get to 50...

The Venky's have several other choices. One, they could have cut wages sufficiently that the club wasn't running at a loss any more. I would not trade all the defeats for our wins in 59/0 and 1973 Charity Shield. Obviously the 59/60 win was massive and the 73 win was pretty special. Dad often talked about this game.......mainly for two reasons, one he was part of this massive crowd, crushed on the Bee Hole End and two the emergence of one of his favourite ever Burnley players, Les Shannon. He went to Ewood Park a couple of weeks later for the 6th Round and another 53,000 crowd....

A very rare headed goal from Gordon Harris......then it all kicks off !!

Remarkably we played Arsenal three times within a week, the league game at the link was on a Saturday sandwiched between a league cup game the previous midweek and the replay at Arsenal the following Tuesday.

I remember that guard of honour. If you look at the smiles on the player's (and everyone's actually) faces it shows how we all felt about his England call up at the time. Perhaps we should be trying to put some names to those faces. I'm thinking it must be the home game against West Brom in Dec.'70...
