Re: New Rovers Manager Announced

I've just switched on to say that the Daily Mirror has an article saying they are considering appointing Tim Sherwood and thought surely not, yes please. Unfortunately Mowbray is a much better/worse choice. Let's hope it's to late to turn it round.

Re: Westwood

For a young lad who couldn't get a game in a poor championship team to come into midfield against the champions to be I think he was excellent. The way he just slotted in like he had been here all season was great to see.

Re: Feels strange

The BBC seem to agree MoTD had our game and West Brom v Stoke on last because they were irrelevant mid table fixtures.

We'll have to put out a weakened side because all the new signings will be cup tied.

Re: Who decides a fixture date move?

I'm going off on a bit of a tangent here but who the hell thought it a good idea to give some teams a match on the last day of the transfer window, a day when most deals are usually done and negotiations go on right up to the deadline?.

Anyone transfer rumour

The Sunday Mirror has come up with this, "Sean Dyche has made an offer for 29 year old Toronto hitman Sebastian Giovinco one of the highest paid players in the MLS."

Bad news this but inevitable, nothing lasts forever. I'm not sure about the "weekly treadmill" thing though, I'm sure he used to go in one day and record about three shows. Got to agree that Tony Blackburn would be a good choice, you had to be there to do the job properly

When they got to the bit when he said " I will solemnly execute" I wonder what he wanted to say next? something like any bugger who annoys me or doesn't agree with me. :D

Re: We all remember the amazing goals....

Lord Beamish mentioned Eli. I remember a reserve game when the opposition kicked off knocked the ball back to a midfielder who passed it out to a winger on the touchline, Roger put him in the third row of the stand and was back up the tunnel with less than a minute on the clock.

Re: Words cannot describe how bad Sunderland are !

They've been in this league for a while now but last night I watched and thought they really have got a lot of very poor players. Surely it's time they went down and rebuilt.

Re: Gates tonight

That's a decent attendance but the fanzone wasn't open and they sold out of programs, surely somebody didn't underestimate how many would turn up 'cause that's never happened before has it.

Next season Spurs v Burnley at Wembley, could be one of our biggest followings for an away league game.

Goalscorers

We now have 13 different names on the score sheet which I think is pretty good going in the premier league, and with Heaton now taking free kicks from the halfway line who knows what might happen.

His last goal at deepdale just about confirmed promotion now this very similar free kick has surely guaranteed survival. The reaction from the crowd was just like when Blake scored against Manu.

Graham Taylor

The Daily Mirror today has a couple of pages dedicated to the man and there's a list of tributes from people that knew him, top of the list is our Sean. "He played a massive part in me taking over at Watford. I'm absolutely devastated by the news."

Re: Burnley worth buying

I think we'd be good investment. If we receive a 100 million a year you could spend 60-70 million keeping us up and pocket the other 30-40 million. It's easy 'til you pick a wrong manager and it all goes tits up like it has done down the road.

Re: Clarets Pitch Invasions

PRESTON 73 was a great day, back in the 1st division where we belong. I don't know how the club avoided getting into trouble for the Wrexham game, it should have been stopped, but I don't think the ref had the bottle to stop it. York was a fantastic night I remember seeing my 12 year old son dissape...
