Not everyone's favourite, but I can't see this 1976 classic ever being bettered.

Re: Art

Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. I always find this painting captivating. The innocence of the scene with the intriguing mystery of exactly what's going on.

The one painting that literally took my breath away was Dali's The Metamorphosis of Narcissus when I unexpectedly came across it at Tate Liverpool.

Re: Our away matches question .

The sticky looking run beginning with Chelsea followed by 4 aways then Spurs has started extremely well. Six 1-1s would be very nice. Who knows?

Re: Could of. Should of. Would of.

I tend to notice a correlation between those who are unable to construct a sentence and those who are unable to construct a coherent argument. Poor grammar serves as a pretty good indicator that it isn't really worth reading on (and by poor I'm not referring to the odd misplaced punctuation mark, t...

Re: Pensioners to lead out the cup team

It isn't a bad idea. It's a bit of fun that's all. That's what having these older mascots at this match is, a bit of lighthearted fun and it will probably only happen once. The older mascots lucky enough to be picked will all be outgoing and up for having a laugh and I hope the club lay on a great d...

Re: O/T - Painted Stone Window Sills

"Nitromors used to take the paint off anything" - too right it did Man of Kent. Even a tiny little well used paint loaded speck used to nearly burn your skin to the bone. You could virtually drink that green stuff they brand as Nitromors these days. Good luck to the OP with the peel off gunge stuff,...

We come from behind to take a superb point against the champions elect and within minutes of the final whistle the most important thing that someone can think of doing is to start a thread making a pretty stupid and irrelevant observation about a player who has scored an absolute peach of a goal on ...

Re: 'Sounds of the Sixties' - Brian Matthew

I share the views of most on here that this is a sad state of affairs. To be honest, barring Jeremy Vine, Radio 2 barely gets a look in for me these days but I used to love this show, an institution which was very much part of my weekend routine, the musical balance between obscure and mainstream ju...

Re: New Bob Lord stand

In my opinion, there is zero sense, financial or otherwise in expanding the capacity of the Turf. These are halcyon days yet the ground has only sold out 3 or 4 times in the past decade, which says that it is already the perfect size for us. If we do establish ourselves as a Premier League club, I'd...

Wow. I'm saddened by this news.
Just saw the thread title and opened it expecting it to be Graham Taylor related, but not this.
As is being said right through the thread, he always came across as a thoroughly nice man.
RIP Graham Taylor.

Can I also add my thanks to all concerned in getting this great looking website up and running.
No doubt it will give a much needed shot in the arm for everyone who had reached the end of their tether with the old site.
Great to see so many names signed up already.
