Virgin miss a massive trick in a marketing sense there for me. All other ADSL broadband providers require the phone line, but Virgin don't. They could steal a march by actually properly pushing that fact rather than tying it all up with Broadband and TV.

The ping monitor isn't a speedtest. It looks at the overall quality of the incoming broadband. I'd recommend anyone to set one up, it gives you historical evidence of when an issue started, which is very helpful when you need to call your provider with an issue.
