I'm from Salford and never felt like I was from Lancashire even though my Dad used to tell me Manchester was part of Lancashire, or used to be. I suppose its about as war of the roses as Man Utd v Leeds.

But it doesn't matter, its Leeds so I want Salford to win.

My feeling isn't that the technology doesn't work, I think it's fine. I just hadn't even considered that a goal like that would be disallowed. I feel like when the rule was invented it was probably just to stop people "goal hanging"! But like I said they have to draw the line somewhere (literally). ...

I know its not a song, neither can it be heard on the radio but does anyone remember when the loud voice used to warn you to keep "gangways and emergency exits clear". As a kid it was almost frightening and I don't even know why.

As for songs Closer than Close and Simply the best always remind me.

Just had a glance at their forum. It seems a lot of them think its a wind up, they are trending at 2 and 3 on twitter someone said so "its working". They also quote some rules and regulations about sponsorship size that would mean it cant be real and they expect the real one to be announced tonight....

I still really don't understand the finance thing.

If there was a Bill Gates rich Burnley fan out there how would he put the money in without us failing FFP? Would it have to be a £1bn Microsoft sponsorship to hide it whilst we build the infrastructure to match? Buy the ground for £500m?

I love the thread, I would definitely credit it with my increased interest in football finances. Although now when I talk to people about football I cant help myself but to turn it to the finances or start quoting losses but I think people like to stay ignorant to it all.

I don't know why it bothers me but I find it annoying that they add sound effects to it.

As if we as humans couldn't cope with the chip laying down without that ping noise, or when the chip pushes some more chips they have to have that crunch sound, but its the same effect every time.

If I found out that the reason we hadn't signed any players so far was because we stood up to the same behaviour (with far more exaggerated money). Then I would be happy to keep the same team.

Does a player have to have an agent or can he read his own contract offer and negotiate himself?
