Good article Tony. Les was a good player who you could always rely on to give his all for the team.
I thought that he really excelled when he moved to left half around 1953/54 time. I was young but always enjoyed watching Les play and he was also one of my dad's favourite players.

I am still trying to work out if the law has changed over how far away a player should stand at a free kick. Every one we had away from their box they were about 2 yards away. Just watch every game you can from PL downwards and nobody ever retreats the 10 yards and the officials do nothing about it...
