Yes Tony.I second everything in your article...he was a good squad member no sulks when on the bench and happy for his team mates when the team won.

Agree. A good attitude throughout his time with us. The Blackpool goal will stay with me for a long time. Thanks Kights and the very best of luck, you deserve it.

Good luck to him. Would be good if he could help Burton stay up at the expense of Rovers :)

Kights hey-day was definitely the run in to the 2013/14 campaign. His performance away at Barnsley also memorable as well as that Blackpool winner. Good luck Kights!

A well written piece which echoes my sentiments entirely. It's always sad when a great servant leaves a club but I think the move is in his best interests.
Good luck to him. I think he may have just achieved legend status with the goals at Bloomfield Road and the 2nd against Wigan ;)

Really good professional, very much part of our success story in recent times. My main memory is actually of him going around the whole team prior to kick off pats on the back, shaking hands etc part of getting everyone up for it. He really cared and it showed. All the best to him.

His Freekick vs Wigan will always be remembered. Quality player hampered sadly by injuries and tough competition. At Burton I really hope he can play week in week out.

Great move for him. Hopefully he can keep them up and send Rovers down. Served us really well and some very fond memories. Always came across as a nice guy too in interviews and never sulked when left out. Good luck Kights!

Not made the starting 11 or the bench tonight though.

I must admit what he did in Dyche's first promotion was great and will always be greatful for his contribution. For me though, I feel he should have been moved sooner as he hasn't been anywhere near upto scratch for the first team for a while now. His last performance against Sunderland was nothing short of terrible. Good luck to him and I also hope he keeps Burton up.

Always appeared to be well liked with his fellow pros, all fans should realise that without the likes of Kightly and Jones, the clarets wouldn't be in the position they are now.

Sometimes a player comes along that you take a bit of a shine to, without really knowing exactly why. Kights had some very good games but, maybe a bit like Jr Stanislas in some ways, didn't quite have the consistency in his game to really make that position his own. Always eager to do well it hasn't always quite come off for him, but his attitude off the field seems to have remained first class. I remember reading some time back that Kights had had spells of depression in the past; so staying positive when he was so often on the sidelines deserves much respect. Good luck Michael, you'll always be a Claret.

Thought he was excellent against a Manchester United away, whilst wearing the silver kit with pride :D

I had to trot this video out once again, maybe for the last time. All the best to Michael Kightly a good club man through some brilliant times for Burnley FC.

I only realised he'd gone when he wasn't in my FIFA 17 team any more!!
I liked Kights. Had a great attitude and is a very competent player. However time has moved on and it would be hard to see him getting a look in now.

He was excellent away at Stoke too, put 2 goals on a plate for Ings. Impressed at Newcastle.
I think he has been unfortunate with us tbh, he didn't deserve dropping last season but it worked out so you can't question it. Dyche just preferred Arfield and Boyd and it ultimately worked well for us.
