Songs made for Rovers

Post by diamondpocket » Wed Aug 16, 2017 6:27 pm

Just heard this and the first thing that came to mind was our Tony down the road!! Anybody have other songs that resonate Rovers' demise?

There's got to be a bundle Of joy division tracks that suit perfectly. Without bothering to move the cat off my arm and look at their track list (as its only rovers), perhaps 'new dawn fades' would suit their start to the season.
'atrocity exhibition' maybe suits Hanover better given those pictures on another thread.

Oh, and I may be getting ahead of myself, perhaps by a season or two, but how about 'funeral party ' by the cure.

Kool and the Gang:

[Intro]
(This is your relegation)
(This is your relegation)
Relegate good times, come on (Let's relegate)
Relegate good times, come on (Let's relegate)

[Verse 1]
There's a party goin' on right here
A relegation to last throughout the years
So bring your good times and your laughter too
We gonna relegate your Venky with you
Come on now

[Hook]
(Relegation) Let's all relegate and have a good time
(Relegation) We gon' relegate and have a good time

I would like to think we will show appreciation for all their managers that made it happen.

There's only one Steve Kean
Michael Appleton
Henning Berg
The Owen Cole song

Tony Mowbray took you down, took you down, took you down. Tony Mowbray took you down he's a Claret.
This should cause some divide between the protesters and Mowbray, most of them like him at the moment but if we hail him as a claret it will soon change.

This is what it's like to be small,
While we're beating Chelsea
You get beat by Southend at home,
Southend at home, Southend at home (repeat until fade)

IF and I mean IF,we are comfortable with ten or so minutes to go alternate singing of the above 'Mind the Gap' and '23, 23 undefeated' would be brill to hear until the final whistle.

Resurrect acsuggestion someone made for PNE last year and tweak it?

Oh what a night
Beating b******s at the Eawood tip
Laughing at them cos they're f***i*g s**t
Oh what a feeling, what a night

Or a new verse for nay no never

They came down from Ewood, they came down on mass
Chasing the donkeys, the horses and ass
They try to molest them
It's their kind of fun
Whilst we all laugh at them bottom of league one (last line needs some work but I've had a couple and it sounds ok in my head)
And it's no nay never......

Like this but substitute Southend for Doncaster, Southend defeat was at Roots Hall
