Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
Tarks deserved it. I thought he would have learned to keep his hands/arms/elbows to himself after the Arsenal fiasco but he appears to be a little naive or panic-stricken in certain situations.

Gutted.
He's still learning. He made a mistake. He'll learn from it. Sean Dyche will make sure of that.
Step forward Mr. Long

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
So Murray grabbing his dislocated finger to wind him up didn't get mentioned?
This ban was always total bxxxcks but then was Grays and Joeys .
We can still get 38 points before New Year we just have to push on.Big Kev did well before so he can again.
Let's hope the ref keeps an eye on Alli.Dele is very fond of over the ball tackles and leaving stud impressions on the opposition.

The ball wasn't in play, ergo no penalty.RocketLawnChair wrote:I might be in a minority of one but I would certainly have demanded a penalty for us if for instance Wood had gone down like Murray did under a similar challenge from Dunk for eg.
I am struggling to see what Murray as done wrong tbh. Tarks was utterly stupid with the elbow sore hand or not and got way to close to his man in the box thus conceding a penalty.

If your going to do it, may as well connect.
I agree with your point about Murray though. I'd want a pen and red should it have been Wood on the receiving end.
So in that respect we gained a point if nothing else from the game, as I don't think we would have drew if down to 10 and the pen against.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
The only one of those I would be happy with at cb for any length of time is Cork and to have to take out of cm would be barmy. The fact that we have done well so far is irrelevant. If we have 2 of our 3 cbs out we are in a mess and how anyone can think otherwise is odd. We have a £100m plus revenue budget ffs. Use it.ablueclaret wrote:Taylor or Cork or even Lowton could fill in, we are not devoid of options if Mee or Long gets injured.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
Dyche is clearly happy with Taylor as our 4th choice centre back though, and I think he's better placed to take a view on this seeing as the rest of us have never seen him play in this position in a competitive match.summitclaret wrote:The only one of those I would be happy with at cb for any length of time is Cork and to have to take out of cm would be barmy. Fully deserved, he was stupid and all the whinging about diving is completely irrelevant to this point.
He elbowed someone on the sly, got caught for his stupidity and has been rightly punished. The end.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
It was inevitable once he did it. Let's look on the bright, if there is one, he gets a few games rest to focus on the rest of the season and Long gets a chance to shine.
Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
He's having surgery to have a pin inserted into a broken bone in his hand. Sounds like the ban is academic given the games he would miss anyway
Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
Is that two acts of stupidity in front of Gareth Southgate? The push for the Arsenal penalty and that elbow were both totally unnecessary. I hope he can sort those "instincts" out and remove them from his game. As SD has said in the past, if he was the finished article he wouldn't be here and he needs to learn from these things and move on. He's got massive potential.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
Didn't expect anything other than a 3 match ban myself. My only gripe being the lack of consistency and bigger clubs getting what would appear more favourable treatment. The EPL is anything but a level playing field and something needs doing to address.

Hope Tarky is now wiser of the Consequences for fouling, Violent conduct your banned. Foul in the area it’s a penalty to the opposition.
The inconsistency of the officials is frustrating though 2 spurs players should also have been missing this Saturday.

If Long plays exceptionally well Tarky will lose his place that’s Dyche’s way.strayclaret wrote:What a Twitowski, time for big Kevin to cement his place, what an opportunity.
So there could be an even harder lesson for Tarky yet.
Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
He’s broken his hand and had an operation to have it pinned. Murray grabs his broken hand. How painful that must have been. Why hasn’t that been used as mitigation and why not exposed to the likes of Talk Sport or SSN? Or perhaps it has and I’ve missed it!

Five pins and a plate inserted into his hand, apparently. I think he'd have missed a game or two whether or not.

I'd agree with that. I reckon it would take some doing to force a climb down once they've charged a player.Tall Paul wrote:I know, that's the point. Once the charge is made the FA have already made up their minds.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
Posts 70,71 and 72 are exactly why I took time to investigate this and started the thread 'Tarkoski's Hand'
but here we go let's vilify him!
These posters in 70, 71 and 72 either don't know the facts or have clearly played professional football with a broken hand and then had it squeezed.
Hey ho they must be hard.
Here is what Sean Dyche has to say about it.
Dyche felt there were mitigating circumstances in the clash and revealed Tarkowski had had surgery on a hand injury picked up in that game and that Murray had played on that before the clash.
"First of all I think it must be pointed out we don’t condone it," Dyche said of the incident.
"At the time I was annoyed with Tarky, but having seen it after the game, the reason we’re a bit surprised is you can clearly Murray grab his hand, which has five pins and a metal plate in. We put that to the panel but they said it shouldn’t be reduced.
"That incident can’t be put in the same bracket as some that get three game bans. It’s very disappointing particularly when you have someone at the other end diving on the floor who gets nothing - and you know how I feel about that.
"James has five pins in it. He had damaged it before (the incident) but Murray knows it. He just happened to grab his hand – maybe it was by accident of course."
Dyche also felt Murray made the most of the first-half incident.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
I don't buy that and certainly not having seen CT playback then. I believe that he was trying to bring someone in and failed. The talking about Taylor was a smokescreen to try and get the price down imo. Get ready for the same approach any time soon. Taylor is not and never will be a PL cb.Rileybobs wrote:Evidence being that he didn't seem to make any effort to sign another centre back and played Taylor at centre back in pre-season.

Perhaps he should have just kicked Murray in the boll#cks twice,he'd off got off Scot free.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
Would he have been able to play despite this hand injury (with some kind of protective sleeve over it)?
If not, then it's perfect timing, cos SD says in the LT he should be ok to play by the time the ban finishes.

And next time you have broken bones in your hand, and someone maliciously grabs it to hurt you, can you give an absolute guarantee that you won't react with violence? Because you'd be stupid to. Apparently.

Memo to Tarky from the FA following his 3 match ban for violent conduct.
Hope you learn from this Mr Tarkowski. When someone grabs your broken hand in future, you should smile sweetly and say "excuse me but that's a tad painful, would you be kind enough to stop squeezing it so I can get on with the game?" I'd be ever so grateful."
Biggest load of sphericals I've heard in years. God help the future of the game if morons like this are running it.

Some Burnley fans were wondering why he had flipped.Dazzler wrote:Btw,your investigation has proved rather fruitless..

It was not like him to lose his temper so easily.
Fruitless? I wasn't expecting the Club or the F.A. to use
my evidence. However, it did explain to some sensible Burnley fans, in advance of today,
why he had so uncharacteristically lost control. As it turns out, I had found the exact reason
and it was very similar info that was put to the F.A. to try and reduce his ban.
Up until that point, I and some others simply thought he had simply lost it.
Anyhow, keep coming up with the Dad's Army clips of him being 'a stupid boy''.
I forget just how hard some people are especially with broken bones in their hands.
Can you not find a clip where they call Pike 'fruitless'?

Inevitable, unfair but inevitable.
The thing that really stinks is the way the FA, led by the media, cherry pick the targets.
Players are only brought to book for diving IF the media make a song and dance about it.
The two dives against us both go unpunished.....Why for ***** sake.
Greys against City goes unpunished because the right team won in the end, but imagine the stink if Leicester had gone on to win. How can the result affect the decision to review a blatant dive......
The FA, a shower of shite.

Re: Three match ban for Tarkowski
The FA should just be a rule making body they should never have been allowed to run a league, they were just about OK with a cup, but you wouldn't have OFCOM running a telecommunications company - The FA should let other people take over The FA Cup and Premier League and then they could be a rule making body without conflicts of interest. They've got historical institutional racism and sexism to worry about anyway, and I suspect their alleged cover up of child sexual abuse will be enough for them to deal with.Colburn_Claret wrote:Inevitable, unfair but inevitable.

Tarks was stupid to respond. 3 match ban will probably cost the club in points and potentially a place or two. Those places are worth several million come the end of the season.
