Debatable penalty decision. Could argue either way for that. I think it was not deliberate and therefore no penalty, but you could argu he knew he wasn’t going to reach it and stuck his arm up to stop whoever was behind him.
1-1

Clear pen. Check out where his right arm is. At the height of his jump that’s where his left arm should be.

100% pen, great decision by the ref - Pique left his arm up there for far longer than normal.

Just seen the replay at half time and it does look deliberate so I do not think it’s debatable. Definite penalty

So if England win on Tuesday a European nation is guaranteed a place in the final.

Just came across the World Cup thread feeling sorry for itself way down on page 2 so thought I'd give it a nice nudge up to the top.
So what do you think about England Colombia this evening folks?

England v Columbia 7pm ITV.

I think England should edge it but Must say Columbia’s fitness and desire has impressed me.

Colombia like England seem to blow hot and cold but normally one would expect us to win, so I'll say 2-1 to England.
By the way, although I don't want to be pedantic, it's Colombia not Columbia.

Next up Sweden v Switzerland BBC 1 at 3 pm. I can’t quite remember what the Swiss were like but the Swedes looked OK so won’t predict on this one.

...Ah Switzerland that’s who that little Stoke winger plays for isn’t it? ;)

England can beat either of these sides, if they get past Columbo. Harry Kane will be licking his lips.

That's a tad embarrassing for the organisers,i can understand some of the group games being sparsely attended, but this is a knockout round match, and potentially in this side of the draw a better than evens shot at making the final :? ,could ticket prices be a factor :?:

End to end stuff with neither side looking capable of actually scoring 0-0 at ht. think this may go to extra time.

1-0 to the Swedes interesting game with much penalty area action but only one goal.

Next up England v Columbia 7pm ITV. England to win by the odd goal.

Fair play to the Swedes. That's a big amount of pride I'm swallowing after the Denmark result. Denmark still don't have an identifiable striker.

Actually, a lack of goal scoring seems to be epidemic throughout Scandinavia these days. Too much emphasis on technical play. It's been coached to death.

Belgium look good value here at 3 to 1.

Man for man are brazil that much better? At the back definitely not. And probably not in the middle.

And Lukaku and Hazard are as dangerous as Neymar and Jesus...
