Real shame for him last night. I'd be surprised if we see much of him this season, but I hope I'm wrong.

It is July. I would guess half a season but we still don't even know what the injury is.JohnMcGreal wrote:Real shame for him last night. I'd be surprised if we see much of him this season, but I hope I'm wrong.

It doesn't look good. Saying last night how ironic it would be if Tom Heaton got his place back due to a shoulder injury for Nick Pope

Re: Popes injury
Looked at first when he was going off that it was his wrist, but the report I heard last night was that it was his shoulder and “more serious than not”
If that’s case and based on Toms recovery it’ll be March before we see him again

That puts to bed which keepers leaving turf moor then. I doubt either was,and a good reason why most clubs have two well paid keepers to do a job.though last night realised we had at least three.

It's reasons like this that we have a 3rd GK of a decent standard.
Now I'm sure there were some people complaining about having Lindegaard on the books...

Posted a topic on here last night about him being potentially out for season, and got laughed off
If it's anything like Heaton's was, we wont see him all season

Re: Popes injury
What an incredible turn of events! Gutted for Pope (brilliant keeper). How will it `work out` for Burnley in the long run?
Scenario 1 - Heaton out, Pope doesn`t get injured, cements his place, excels and is poached in January by an `Arsenal type` for 30m. Heaton returns and is our number 1 forever.
Scenario 2 - Heaton never got injured, played, Pope wouldn`t get back in the team as is Dyche`s mantra and Pope is off in January, forcing a move for 20m.
Scenario 3 - Heaton wasn`t injured but actually Pope got the nod as he is the No.1. Pope played, continued his excellent form and Heaton accepts for his career he has to move on. He would be off to a Newcastle or Wolves, for somewhere in the region of 15 million BUT the problem is Pope then, after an excellent season gets his head turned by a Top 4 club (always thought he would be off to Arsenal as Cech`s replacement) for somewhere in the region of 40m.
ACTUAL SCENARIO - Heaton out, Pope out, 3rd choice in. Heaton eventually gets back in the team. Pope (whenever he recovers) will not get the chance to prove himself an will leave for 15mill.
Thank you. I`m also a Level 6 parapsychic, very handy with an abacus and have an uncanny skill of knowing the time without referencing a timepiece.
Good night everybody!!!! UP THE CLARETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not much to go off, fair enough, but a reassuring display last night, and a cracking second half save from Lindegaard.
Quite happy with him over Hart.

Why the talk about Hart? Heaton as only got a minor calf strain, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts the next game.

I suppose the main concern over Tom Heaton would be if he had a recurrence. I guess it all hangs on the extent of Nick Pope's injury.PutTheWheelieBinsOut wrote:Why the talk about Hart? Heaton as only got a minor calf strain, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts the next game.

That’s not true. He could have stubbed his toe whilst kicking the post before facing a penalty

That's 3 including Barnes-at least he did not land on it. Lets hope its not as serious as Tom's
Re: Popes injury
How reliable this is I don't know.
"Burnley have suffered a major blow as goalkeeper Nike Pope has suffered an injury which will rule him out of action for up to six months, according to a report published by The Sun.'

Daily Telegraph says dislocated shoulder, out for some months. Possibly from the same source, though.

Re: Popes injury
Something seriously wrong with the coaching of our keepers they're going for balls that the defenders should be dealing with time n time again what happened to good old shot stopping?
Re: Popes injury
If it was in the Sun did they say his stunning girlfriend has now come to terms that Nick the Prick can only copulate in 24 positions due to avoiding pressure on his severely damaged shoulder ? If not I won't believe it's from the Sun.

Re: Popes injury
Now seen some screenshots of the injury and I hadn’t realised it was Tarky’s knee that did the damage, Tarky initially getting his head in between Pope’s glove and the forward’s boot, and with him being such a big unit Pope’s shoulder had nowhere to go.
I thought Tarky was poor on Thursday, but now I feel much more sympathetic to him, he must have been gutted.
