Re: İstanbul Başakşehir v Mighty Clarets
Don't know how many on here saw our 0-0 with Napoli in 1967 where, by all accounts, we were battered both on and off the pitch. I was delighted with the result then and certainly not bothered how much we might have deserved it.
Different situation tonight because the effort put in has kept us in the tie and it is ludicrous and immature to suggest that any one of our players don't deserve credit for the part they played. We all have favourite and less favourite players but to single out one individual from a 0-0 draw in very trying conditions against a very technically gifted side is pathetic and downright insulting. I can whinge but I'm strictly non-league compared to at least one poster on here.

I think that’s a good result for us. Well organised as usual. I was quite impressed with the opposition.

Saw Napoli game at turf moor, Bomber Harris extracted retribution on a Napoli defender who was dishing it out to Lockhead. Sly uppercut from Harris behind the ref's back sorted it out!

I wish the window was still open. I'd sell our midfield for 70mill and buy theirs for half a crown. Job well done really but I'll be skipping the 1st 5mins when we release the Euro winning DVD

Hopefully the lkes of Brady, Wood, Lowton, Vydra, Ward and a fitter Lennon will play some part nexr week and i expect us to progress relatively comfortably.
Good result with a scratch side.

Not Vydra - he isn't in the squad.

That was a turgid affair, sad to watch and very reminiscent of a certain special one.

A stronger team next week at a sold out and raucous Turf should see these off, looked a typical "hard fought away draw in a distant hellhole" type affair
Hard to credit any individuals except the team as a whole, though Hart (appeared?) to make a remarkable reflex save from their fast and very tricky winger in the first half.
