Better Call Saul gets much better, stick with it.BenWickes wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 4:27 pmI'm a huge fan but for me this season of the programme has not been as good. Still very watchable but not as good and that final scene last night just made me think of American TV Shows with a rushed, cobbled storyline. Which they all are. (Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul of which the latter I am painfully hanging in there hoping it gets better and we're only in series 2)
Line of Duty is very good at placing clues and a storyline develops where you expect the unexpected. Then it goes off and shocks. Usually.
They're not normally afraid of killing off leading actors either but this series seems like it's got a lot of after thoughts. Just not the usual standard for me.
It's got me thinking more in this series 'Why did the writer do that?' or 'Why did the director do that?' rather than thinking 'WOW! I didn't see that coming.
Line of Duty

It's ok. I get that they need to build the story as to how all the characters knit for Breaking Bad but it's hard going sometimes. We do like Mike though.
Is El Camino worth a watch? That's a follow up to the end of Breaking Bad I think.
Re: Line of Duty
I fell asleep watching El Camino and couldn't tell you what happened in it, so not exactly a ringing endorsement. It followed Jesse after the end of Breaking Bad, but was disappointing imo
Re: Line of Duty
Say no more. I'm guessing he follows a similar pattern. Nice lad, starts using, goes back to wrong crowd, crime, tries to correct himself. Rinse and repeat. What am I saying you fell asleep!
It's kind of how I see it panning out though.

Are but did you notice during the interview of Jo, Det Sup Carmichael at one point tapped her pen on the desk four times!

Re: Line of Duty
Four taps is dot dot dot dot, morse code for H, She was probably telling her or reminding her that she's H.
Another massive clue that Carmichael is H came in episode 4, in that episode, Jimmy Lakewell turned down the opportunity to speak to DS Steve Arnott about why murdered journalist Gail Vella had contacted him and, Lakewell calmly told him: "Look beyond the race claim to find H." If you take the letters 'race claim' from the name Carmichael you are left with just H.

Re: Line of Duty
Mercurio loves to throw us off the scent with red herrings so I suspect the eyebrows, pen tapping and anagram are all just that. The sad man probably stays up all night thinking of these tricks to throw at us
Carmichael is definately (sp ) being evasive but I think the most likely scenario is she is playing a long game, keeping her cards close, and fully intends to bring down all the bent coppers herself. No way are Ted and the gang powerful enough to bring down a Chief Constable who will have had 20 years to help build up a network of bent coppers and criminal gangs.
The crucial question is - who is the “no comment” person Jo thought was her Dad? Nesbitt’s character is the likely one, and given he was superior to the Chief Constable when on the force, he is likely to be the top baddie, the CC doing his bidding. Maybe I’ll rethink the eyebrows being a red herring

Or if Carmichael is a red herring then H isn't a person, it's a place, The Hill. the station where the ocg rotate bent coppers through the ranks.

Re: Line of Duty
The two female prison offices who appeared as Jo was about to be locked in her cell and made the comment, " looks like we've taken a wrong turn" looked highly suspicious to me, were they just letting Jo know they can get to her?

They were the same two did Lindsey Denton weren't they? Think they were on their way to do Jo too but stopped when they saw the CCTV.

They were obviously going to nobble her until they clocked the cameras being active.

Just imagine if Noel Clarke had a starring role in Line Of Duty and it was decided not to screen the final episode?

I think that Kate has been deep deep undercover for Carmichael for a very long time. Ted is H and they’ve been after him for years.

More than a rumour. Can't be a coincidence that his "real" name is an anagram of..."Nosy closet H!"

Buckles being H was a bit of a curve ball that probably wasn’t expected, but it wasn’t played out that well.

It wasn't the best. I was very under whelmed, but how do explain everything that went on any better?
I don't know if their will be a clamour for another series, maybe it's run it's course?
