Who is it then? To be fair I doubt it's been decided yet who the 4th member is. It'll be open to change.

Rohan Sindwhani, i think.

If things make sense then Hastings not being able to wipe his own hard drive means he cant' be H. Also, H would never be so careful as to route his comms through multiple VPNs and yet so careless as to let some dude at a computer shop have access to his computer.

Rohan Sindwhani makes sense and i expect we'll see more of him next season.

Yes Sindwhani may be set up by the writers as looking like the 4th member but will be massively underwhelming as the last member of "H" so can't see it myself.

Maybe it's Kate. We've had series where Hastings and Arnott have been accused of being H. Not had one where it's Kate yet.

It’s Kate (or at least, I hope it’ll be)

She’s been fast-tracked ahead of Arnott and never gets in the same mishaps as him.

One of many things which didn't quite make sense to me was why Ted carefully bubble wrapped his laptop before taking it to the shop to be seemingly wiped / destroyed. You'd just put it in your laptop bag and go to the shop wouldn't you? So I wondered if he made sure he was seen going into the shop on CCTV, whilst he was actually having the thing safely stowed away somewhere or with someone. We know Ted was engaged in the early chats with Corbett and Lisa because they cut straight from one such chat to Ted in his room with the laptop in the periphery of the shot with the chat screen visible (but out of focus). So the porno excuse was just that, and obviously not credible I thought. Expect more on that in series 6....

Addicted to painkillers which he was taking for his back injury after being thrown down the stairs and put in a wheelchair for half of the previous series.

Think the writers were using misdirection regarding Lisa/Corbett chatting to someone then cutting to Hastings.

Ok, but Ted did appear to have the same chat screen on his laptop. They made a point of showing us that, without too heavily labouring it. Perhaps he was monitoring a chat between the real H and Corbett/Lisa, but with that not being wrapped up in the last episode the implication seems to be that it was Ted all along. And the real reason he needed shut of the laptop pronto...

The problem there is that H wouldn't take a laptop to a computer shop to rid it of incriminating information. But a devout catholic with low IT skills who is ashamed of looking at porn might well do that.

I thought he may have been watching the chat between H and Lisa/Corbett too but there wasn't even a little hint so probably not. I think the porn excuse is extremely weak and may be a deliberate ploy by the writers in case they want to change direction on Hastings in the future.

Refresh me from S1 E1.
Did Arnott go into AC12 because of prior on duty injuries. That could all have been his cover?

He was recruited by Hastings after refusing to cover for members of his team who botched a terrorist raid and killed an innocent.

Another piece of evidence against the theory that Hasting's is H. H wouldn't want such an ethical member of the force on his team.

On the "is Ted H" debate.
Why was Gill trying to fit him up if he was one of the baddies like her? She went to quite a lot of trouble (& risked exposing her own true allegiance) by doing that.

Self-preservation. It's also possible that Dot recruited the other three, so they could be unaware of each others' identity.

Defund the BBC so we don't have this leftie, liberal, woke shite foisted on us.

Strange that they're repeating series 2 prior to the new series rather than the last series. Wonder if that's a hint to where the new series is going?

Can’t wait!

We’ve been watching the last five series (again) during the last two weeks.

I’m predicting heavy involvement for Ryan, now that he has joined the police, and I suspect that Kate might come under heavy scrutiny at some point, as Steve and Ted have had a much harder time if things in the last two seasons.

Bring on the bent coppers!

Happy Line of Duty Day!

Hastings was issued with a final written warning

Ryan (series 1....lad on a bike who delivered messages and burner phones for Tommy Hunter), graduated from the police.

Gill Bigallo, despite being very bent, was re-homed with a new identity.

Ryan was in the last series too, though I’d not made that link until I watched a recap!!

I am not convinced by the Ryan joining the police story line. He was on the police's radar as a kid in series one, presumably would have found more trouble as he was growing up. Surely he'd have enough on his record to stop him being allowed to join.

Judging by the number of bent coppers they uncover I’d suggest the recruitment process isn’t as thorough as it might be.
