I thought double jeopardy would come into play.
Not sure on that one

If he had attempted a tackle, rather than pushed Abraham down, it would probably have been a booking instead.

Dont think that matters in the laws around denying a clear goal scoring opportunity
It does. See the discussion in the "Dermot - no foul" thread.

Double save from Reina keeps Villa in it.
How did Drinkwater play before he was taken off?

Yep just looked it up, I stand corrected. Ref must have deemed it no attempt at winning the ball

Only one game I stand corrected

"For example, a sending off due to a second yellow card will result in a one-match ban, as will a red card received for a professional foul. Dissent leading to a red card will generally earn a two-match ban, while violent conduct can be punished with a suspension for three games"

Annoying, that.

Could have been without Aubamayeng and Luiz and instead they’re rested :(

Talk about doom and gloom.

We started 5 points clear of 18th. Despite not playing we’re still 4 points clear.

You want as many teams as possible in trouble. There’s an argument that anyone from 7th down can still get relegated. That’s good news tbh.

Not sure why everyone’s getting in a tizz about it. Watford are still well in trouble. Brighton are looking dodgy. It’s good news on the whole.

Pretty bad set of results for us tonight.
Was hoping Watford would win as well as Brighton and Newcastle to lose.

But not to be.

Still, a win at OT would be just the ticket!

Table will always keep looking worse whilst we play our game after other teams (same when we play Arsenal on the Sunday) but all we can do is put points on the board.

Of course it doesn’t. Still a massive win. So we’re four points clear instead of five and there more teams are in the mix. Brighton pulled into it, Watford resume their downward spiral and West Ham will lose tomorrow.
