I admire your passion CC, and this sounds like a much more inclusive organisation, surely everybody can agree that we need to fight hate, injustice and prejudice whoever it's directed against, i'll send a small donation in later, you might to edit your post however you've spelt Burnley wrong.

The key for me is stopping this in the bud when our youngsters are young, nobody is born with hate, but their upbringing, parental influence, and other assorted factors can turn them into a bigot, sexist, and hating other minorities for no apparent reason.

Having lived in Glasgow for almost 30 years, i'm well aware of the catholic/protestant divide in this city, it's not as bad as it used to be, but it still lingers beneath the surface, and sadly it probably always will, but it is on the wane, through various community projects, usually started by the schools, that's where we can make a difference and stop this at source, before it takes root in the next generation.

Truly overwhelmed with the response the page has gotten.

I was unaware of another campaign started last night, the owner has offered to match the first £600 donations which means so far we've raised £1700 for charitable causes which is truly amazing and I hope goes a long way to restoring faith in this wonderful club and it's fanbase.

Absolutely brilliant idea Joe. After the truly gutting feeling I had last night this has given me a sense of togetherness once again. Gladly and proudly donated.

Just think if all Burnley fans could donate just £1 we can send the most positive message to everyone that we are all behind the movement to rid the hate and discrimination that clearly exists. I hope the main media channels can pick up on this which will begin the rebuild of our battered reputation.

Or better still, putting them around the ground. The plane would only be seen once but strategically placed in the stands they would be repeatedly seen during the game.

Wow! We hit £1000 thank you so much, we've really shown people what we can achieve together. Messages of support, likes & retweets were as welcome as every pound.

As a way of paying some kind of penance for people's generosity I'm going to do a retroactive 100km charity cycle tomorrow which I've only done twice before & both times for charity.

Donated. Well done everyone. All we can do is call it out, stand firm and shout loudly what’s Burnley is really about. This board has cheered me from last night’s dismay.

Donated - it's one way we can show the haters they don't have the upper hand. Agree that we should have Clarets Against Racism posters around the ground for our home matches till the end of the season.

You are right Tiger. Sadly there was an eruption last week, with anti Irish/Fenian 'activity' in George Square.

The favourite Glaswegisn insult is now, "Ya Da guards statues".

Yes electronic ground signage would be better. I am anti plane signs, as of now!

Thank you for the feedback, but just for me if no one else, as I see very different outlets to most of the people here, I would greatly appreciate a heads up on the final outcome.

Well done for setting this up and I am really pleased and fully supportive of the page/site you are working with as a positive action in support of our Club, our players and our town in general. While I may have left a long time ago, it is part of my heritage and always will be, therefore this is near and dear to my heart, none of us wish to be tarnished with that banner.
