£14 million and counting

So, I think the lowest we can finish in the league just now us 14th. Given it's roughly £2 mil for each place higher in the league means we've already banked £14 mil with, perhaps, more to come.

At what point might this cash begin to make any material difference in terms of making up any TV money shortfall as well as beginning to give some flexibility in transfer funds.

Chester Perry, royboy etc - I'd welcome your thoughts.....

Think it depends on how much of the placement's payments go to the players.

Presumably we budget the placement payments at a low level and anything more than this is a bonus (less monies then owed ourselves in bonus payments to the team and staff).

It will hopefully go some way to softening the blow of coronavirus.

Have they confirmed that it's £2m per place - or is that money part of the cut back because of the way the seasons been disrupted?

I'd estimate no more than 50% of any per place money goes to the players' (and coaching team's) bonuses, the bigger part of the bonuses will be on retaining Premier League status - simply because that ensures another season's tv money...

Any remaining money will go towards filling the hole from no crowds for the home games, plus the extra costs associated with covid-19....

I still expect that the club will have lost money this season. Of course, we won't know how much until the accounts are published end of March next year.
