Strange turn of events after he'd kept them up

Just saw that. They entice him away from his hugely successful position at Lincoln, then dump him. I would suggest the problems at Huddersfield are not in the manager's office, but in the recruitment.

A few years ago, they were cited as a club on the up and a model that we should be looking at. They seem to have shifted into reverse gear pretty quickly.

So it's either a done deal or promotion from within? Unless the chairman decides to do a Brentford.

Owners of clubs and their decisions will never cease to amaze me.

It's bizarre considering the job the Cowley brothers have done since they were appointed, they achieved their remit of keeping Huddersfield in the Championship, and then they get the bullet :?

lot of strange things going on with the new ownership - not helped by the fact that new owner is using the Parachute payments to repay the loans to the former owner

but if you don;t give a manager time to create the right culture you are going to have trouble - just look at that first 8 months with Dyche here

That first few months under Dyche wasn’t helped with an unsettled dressing room because of contract issues and players being asked to take drops in pay. If you remember, both Marney & Wallace did, Grant & Paterson wouldn’t.

Town are now searching for a fourth full-time boss since January 2019, how on earth does a manager and his coaching staff get a chance to build anything when there's a constant turnover at such a rapid rate.

Far too many chairmen think they're Alan Sugar, and they've already get the your fired speech written, before a gaffer gets his feet under the table.

Thankfully our board have the sense to give managers time to implement their ideas, both Coyle and Dyche had rocky 1st half seasons, but we kept faith with them, and we were duly rewarded, surely a manager has to get at least 1 full season under his belt before you can form a judgement, the signs for Huddersfield were promising, and they've just beaten a team 2nd in the division to confirm their safety, and the thanks they get is too be shown the door.

They aren’t though. They are not seeking any applications so looks as though someone already there, possibly Mark Hudson, is taking over.

Never liked the Cowley's especially their "professional" approach to playing the game. Saw it when they were at Lincoln in games with Stevenage...and in the Cup tie at Turf Moor. Players feigning injuries, throwing the ball away to stop opponents taking quick throws, always in the officials ear whining about everything, horrible individuals. Lincoln fans would obviously love them for the success they bought to the club but personally I dislike them intensely!!

Unproven though and if he has been negotiating behind their backs what signals does that send out. I’d like to think better of him and hope they have been making contact outside the club.

Given the on-field situation he inherited (I know nothing about the ownership or related issues) thought he did a superb job to keep them up with no previous experience at that level - especially when you take into account the other big clubs at the wrong end of the table, Middlesbrough and Stoke made changes which saw their results improve too

Don't think he'll struggle to find another job at that level - not necessarily pretty - but effective. Birmingham could do worse

We never do these things of course. :)

Mind you, who was the fellow that said something like 'you're 'aving a f....g larff' yesterday on TV when the commentators felt they had to apologize for it? I suspect it was a Norwich person as there was an incident at the time where their player was a 'victim'.

I don't think they left Turf Moor with any good feeling either - no humility whatsoever from him or his brother and I don't think there was much love lost between the two clubs overall.

That's an interesting possibility. All Huddersfield have said is "We have made this decision in the belief that, in the long term, it is in the best interests of the Club as we move forward. We have a different vision for the way we operate the Club, and how our ambitions can be achieved. The Club are not seeking applications for the vacant position."

The Huddersfield chairman is always spouting about the pennies. He certainly isn't helping the bank balance when he keeps sacking the manager, he must have spunked out a fortune in compensation

If reports about Cowley speaking to another club are true he may have violated his contract and therefore may not be eligible for a pay-out.

Mind you, that could be said for many clubs fans.

Either way. The Cowleys still had Loesll, Mounie, Schindler, Pritchard and a whole host of other Premier squad players and escaped by the skin of their teeth.

Schindler is probably the only one of those four who you would have in a Premier League squad. Huddersfield’s recruitment was horrendous. It cost them their Premier League place and almost their Championship place. Wagner, who is now making a mess at Schalke, was found out and why on earth they ever appointed Siewert only they will know.

We have no idea what’s going on behind closed doors.

Huddersfield players would be used to a high level of coaching under Wager. Perhaps the players highlighted to the board inferior coaching from managers who have only coached lower league players.

Maybe Wagner is on his way back?
