Shirts of the past
When you picture our past shirts, who do you see wearing them. To start off, I see Billy Ingram, Peter Noble and Brian Flynn wearing the “V” shirt

Tommy Boyle in the iconic shirt with the blue ring round the neck. Captain of both the 1920/21 side that won the First Division Championship and the FA Cup Final in 1914.
Be a bit special if we adopted that shirt for next season, the centenary of that Championship win.

Peter Noble in the dark blue/sky blue away kit from the mid 70s - would be high on the shopping list if ever re-produced by Toffs or similar
Steve Davies (Mk II) - yellow with black pinstripe away kit
Paul Weller - claret and blue quarters
Ade Akinbiyi - claret with blue stripe across the chest (Cotterill era)

Why do all players in old photos look like they are over 50?

Could be my memory playing tricks on me, but I remember Billy in yellow, but it had claret and blue sandwich stripes on each side....

I’d love one of these.... I have the Poco sponsored home shirt from roughly that era.RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 3:26 am7830319B-BF99-41F8-AA04-8AFA5D63F2AA.jpeg

Re: Shirts of the past
why are both Burnley and Liverpool in away kits?RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 3:26 am7830319B-BF99-41F8-AA04-8AFA5D63F2AA.jpeg
Yes. This one.
that photo shows a lot about how times have changed
Hamilton no shin pads - not allowed now
No sponsors logos on both kits
Clemence wearing track suit bottoms and a green top for an away kit
players wearing black boots
perimeter adverts being hoardings not flashing leds or whatever they use now

Yes, does look like Hansen but I think it's Steve Perryman.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:48 pmremember listening to that on the radio - though I was sure the defender on the right was Hansen, after seeing Clemence - makes sense now though
