From what I’ve seen, I agree. A better option than Osayi-Samuel in that he seems to be more right-sided and doesn’t fanny about trying to take people on, just whips great crosses in. Just what we need. I’d take Samuel as well though, as cover for Dwight when he moves on. If you could get those two for £10m, we’d be well stocked for wingers now and in the future.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 12:20 pmThis is one I can see. Younger, fitter Gudmundsson. Would be good business for us. Highest assister in the championship I think. Would be perfect swinging in crosses for Woody and Jay.

Agree with that. Bardsley and Jeff were wanted. He got 1 from 2 and we found a decent replacement in Brownhill.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 1:20 pmI think he was referring to Hendrick as opposed to Hart and Lennon personally. Jeff was utilised by the gaffer in many positions and always did a job whilst being a tidy footballer, why wouldn’t he have wanted to keep him on? As for the other two, they were always destined to go this summer. As Dyche says often, he is still learning but so is the Chairman and I think he has to learn from the Hendrick saga. We have done unbelievably well regardless of this and I hope they sit down and crack on and deliver more miracles for our fantastic club.

Like i was saying.....Paul Waine wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 4:27 pmIf the Boro fan is correct and the sum we owe Boro for Gibson is written off it means we've sold him for half of what we paid, not "for nowt."
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If we are going to sell back to Boro in exchange for waiving future payments, we should insist on a significant promotion clause. If Boro get back to PL during his contract they pay us £5m. Otherwise he can rot for another 2 years.

Apparently we've bid 15m for Matty Cash at Forest. Forest want nearer 20m. From a journalist on Twitter.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I’ve seen very little of him, he’s the right sort of age profile to grow into the team over the next 12 months and his goals tally isn’t shy for a right back.claretlegend wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 1:41 pmApparently we've bid 15m for Matty Cash at Forest. Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If that's true, and i have my doubts, then we're not too far apart in valuation, so that might be a goer, he plays right midfield, so possible Hendrick replacement? He won't come cheap as he's tied down til 2023, so if we genuinely want him we'll have to dig deep, but he ticks a lot of boxes early 20's, he turns 23 next month, and he's got a eye for a goal, and can chip in with assists.claretlegend wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 1:41 pmApparently we've bid 15m for Matty Cash at Forest. If we could get this one over the line that'd be a good start to the window, and it might shut some of the moaners up for a while.

A year left on his contract. Let's hope Tendayi can put in a word with him for what a good club we are.
Thought he was OOC 2021-did he sign an extension after 2017 Tiger?

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Where do you get a year on his contract, he signed a new deal last Autumn, so he's still got 3 years remaining i'm afraid, that's why he won't be a cheap option if we're really interested in his services. What we can offer is PL football, but I've a strong suspicion they'll be others chasing him that can also offer that carrot.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Yes got that now Tiger he was under contract until 2021 but as you say re-signed a 4 year deal in 2019-pity.

"Matty Cash I want you, Matty Cash I need you, woh-oh" to the tune of Dirty Cash (Money Talks) by Adventures of Stevie V
I will sing it on the Longside, as a soloist if needs be. It didn't bother me with "Hey there Georgie Boyd, running down the wing so fancy free", or "Standing with Sean's Army" (Ellie Goulding), and nor will it with Matty Cash I want you!

Yes. Evangelos Marinakis took over from Al Hasawi (he of sofa's and Lansbury fame) in 2017.

Looks good and at 6ft 1 has the physical presence as well! Think £15m is plenty for a Championship player though.
If we’re spinning £15m on a RB I can’t imagine it’ll leave much for right wing??

I know Matty’s uncle very well - he comes from a very grounded family, with full blooded Italian stock. I have no doubt if we were to get him, our Claret family would not be disappointed. Very much a Dyche player in that he gives it his all.
Hope this one comes off.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
With Cash and previously Basham, I think this will be our target this summer, 3 or 4 players who are diverse and can play several positions so squad depth rather than a dedicated right back or winger etc.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Boro have signed centre back Grant Hall. They were saying Gibson was his number 1 target but I can only see that being the case now if he's prepared to lose one of his existing defenders. Could a swap deal be on the cards for Fry?

Wow £50 million rumoured. Our transfer kitty will be emptied PDQ by the demands made for players we may want to sign if Nick leaves for that fee
We should hold out for more-deal done for £70million plus add ons.

We shouldn't be selling but if we have to then £70m in todays market. They paid that for a goalie not as good as Pope.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I suspect that this story has legs as whilst I'll be sad to see him leave, I think it's a deal that will benefit both clubs and Nick too; No doubt Billy Mercer is already applying the finishing touches and doing his pre-delivery inspections to the next one off the production line. Chelsea perhaps have some useful trade-ins we could use, though salary expectations might scupper that?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Regards Pope to Chelsea, 45m and Victor Moses would be great, solves our right winger and back up RB issue too.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Having lost two experienced keepers in the last year or so (Heaton and Hart) we should be looking to get top dollar for Pope. Billy Mercer and his team have a good eye. I'm pretty sure he's very much part of the recruitment procedure when it comes to keepers. Let's assume we hold out for £65 million. We'd need to bring in a keeper of experience. Etheridge, Krul, Butland, Ramsdale. Someone of that ilk. Would't be confident going into 2020/21 with BPF and/or another untested keeper at this level. Mercer has a good eye so undoubtedly will have keepers he thinks have potential as a keeper who could challenge within the next year or two on top of an experienced keeper. Can't see many Chelsea players they'd be prepared to let go or we'd be interested in as a makeweight. Maybe Gallacher or Gilmour, but the latter is injured and has a bright future.

They can have him for anything north of 60 million. We don't have a benefactor to maintain our status in this league, we have to wheel and deal.

Not a fan of Moses, too much diving going on for my liking. Connor Gallagher would be my pick, young talented midfielder along with a whopping fee for Pope as well naturally

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
You’d have to take £50m for a 28yo goalkeeper really.
Would be looking at Ramsdale as a replacement.

Pope to Chelsea would explain why we are trying to do our biz early, if there is anything in the Matty Cash story, before we are awash with cash and selling clubs hike their fees. Let's get a couple in before we finalise the deal to sell Pope.

28 for a goalkeeper is pretty much the equivalent of a 23 year old outfield player. Pope now has experience as well as years ahead of him which makes his a master of his trade.
I'd be looking for £70-80m or a player or two + £50-60m.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We need a goalkeeper not a shot stopper. I’ve posted before about the number of clubs who have been relegated by putting a young shot stopper in ahead of an experienced keeper. B’mouth overlooked Boruc and Begovic to put this kid in the side. He probably looks great in training but can he marshall the defence in front of him like an experienced veteran. This was one of the complaints, on here, when Hart came in for Tom & Nick, he was too quiet.
Krul would be the best of those listed above

If Chelsea really want Pope then he is gone. It’s just a case of getting the best price. Would be a great move for him and would probably help push him ahead of Pickford as England goalkeeper.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
As good as he is, I’d take £50-60m for Pope given Dyche gets the full whack to spend.
We could really improve the squad with that.
