I'm not averse to signing Stephens cheaply as filler but I would have preferred we had gone after McTominay who would have been an assett for years to come. A large number of Utd fans appear to be saying that he is not good enough for them so that means I'd take him in a heart beat.

McTominay would be a fantastic capture, but I'll be if United let him go, and even if they did he wouldn't come cheap he's got a long contract.Guller Bull wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 1:49 pmI'm not averse to signing Stephens cheaply as filler but I would have preferred we had gone after McTominay who would have been an assett for years to come. I haven't seen much of United recently, but I always thought he was one of their better performers last season, so I'd take what their fans say with a large pinch of salt.
Wages would probably be a stumbling block anyway, even if we were interested.

McTominay who Utd gave a new 5 year deal to this summer on around 55k - 60k a week ?

Could this mean the Forest centre-half could be coming ??

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Great bit of business if we sign Stephens an “oven ready” replacement for Hendricks. It’s not a progressive signing but will solve a problem that needs to solved now. That said like most of us I am hoping for more and unlike many I am confident that we will. UTC

His replacement was Brownhill

Brownhill signed 6 months before we offered Hendrick a contract. How can he be his replacement ?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Meant “it’s that predictive text again”
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Because if he was going to sign it he would of, it was obvious he was running down his contract and going.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:15 pmBrownhill signed 6 months before we offered Hendrick a contract. How can he be his replacement ?
Like when Tarkowski was brought in to cover the sale Keane

Just to try and lift the mood, our Swedish friend Robin Quaison still hasn't gone anywhere. Now he really could be a player to get excited about. Could it still be on, especially with Gudders and Brady injured? I do hope so.

I also wouldn't be sad to see Joe Allen. Only 30 so worth a 2 year deal imo

Stephens would be a great signing and walk straight into our side. If we get him for sub 2 million it would be great business

Lots of decent players will be coming available over the next 2 - 3 weeks, now clubs are getting their squads together. Would think that we could pick up some right owd proper bargains

From what I'm told the Quaison deal is now off. I believe he is likely to stay with Mainz.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:24 pmJust to try and lift the mood, our Swedish friend Robin Quaison still hasn't gone anywhere. Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Absolutely not. We were still desperately trying to keep Hendrick long after Brownhill signed. Brownhill replaced Drinkwater who replaced Defour. We are still one short in that area having not replaced Hendrick.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Can't see how he would ever fit into a Dyche team the way he plays to be honest. He's done well for himself eventually since leaving us but he couldn't get into their Championship side last season.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Not sure he'd walk into the side. He'd strengthen our options though.Top Claret wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:33 pmStephens would be a great signing and walk straight into our side. If we get him for sub 2 million it would be great business

Yes, you said that earlier Tony, but that was before Brady went off injured. The situation could have changed now. Probably not, but I hope it has.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:38 pmFrom what I'm told the Quaison deal is now off. I believe he is likely to stay with Mainz.

He played for Brighton in the cup so is cup-tied.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
That doesn’t matter considering we spend about as much time in the cup, as a tea bag

He was subbed for Mainz after 68 minutes.

He was subbed for Mainz after 68 minutes yesterday. We’d seen enough of him to seal the deal

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I really doubt that a decision would ever be made on any player after 68 mins.
I'm sure we know everything there is to know about him over months of careful research. If he doesn't come, it's either he's not a good fit, or Mainz or the player want too much money.
Time yet though for people to change their minds.

Dan James anyone, mainly left wing but can play on the right....mind you he falls over a lot..so maybe not a Dyche type.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If that is true, then it would mean we've turned down the 35+5 million, which is good. The club have believed to have already said £50 million.
