Well at least that should mean there’s no outgoing transfer deal currently in progress.

It is good news, but I doubt he could say anything else, especially if they are holding out for the best price.

Reckon he would have said something very different if he felt Tarky could leave.

Surely means on a club finance basis?

Its good news for me.I think he could easily have said something on the lines that every player has their price if there was something happening in the background

Sort of suggests to me that Dyche knows (or certainly more than thinks) he's going to have Tarky beyond this window

Very positive. I wonder why he didn't have the captain's armband in our friendly though? Seems odd timing to give it to Westwood.

I don't think there are any clubs out there that can afford 50m on one player at the minute?

Maybe City but they want world class players, and as good as I think Tarky is, he's not quite that level.

I was talking about the second sentence. He’s asking why players would want to leave as we’re a top ten Premier League club with a great dressing room atmosphere (presumably).

I know people will think I am being ridiculously positive and ignoring the bad things going on at the club with this statement, but keeping Tarkowski is the biggest signing/statement we could possibly make this window in the circumstances.

Never thought for one minute he would be going anywhere.

We obviously have little to play with in the transfer market so we need to keep our best players. I can see us bringing in a couple of new faces from the championship as the window starts to close

Keeping key players is every bit as important as signing new players

2 things.

Firstly if Tarky does want to speak to other clubs and or wants to move to progress, he cant say anything different which may jeopardise any potential fee.

Secondly should bids come in, that decision on whether he stays or not wont be Mr Dyche's to make, soon as hlthe clubs top value of him gets hit, the bid is accepted.

No, I think that's nothing more than Dyche being very confident he's keeping Tarkowski at Burnley.

On the subject of West Ham. Having seen them the other day against Newcastle, you could put Bobby Moore at his best into that team and it wouldn't make any difference based on that performance.

Got it.

"We have nothing relevant at the moment and we are hoping it is not.

We want to keep our best players.

I don't see why any player would leave here at this moment in time and if they did I think the numbers would need to be considerable for it to be considered"

My view is that if we keep all the players we have now and don’t sign anyone we’ve had a good window. If we can bring in one or two squad players and still keep everyone we’ll have had an excellent window

Hopefully the chairman has reassured the manager that they will not let him go for less than £50m and Dyche believes there is also little likelihood of anyone reaching that level of bid. Reading around Tarkowski's story (especially the excellent feature on him in The Athletic) I think he's desperate to make it at the top level, and playing for England meant the world to him. West Ham don't look the best placed club to help him achieve that, a decent run even until Christmas in this Burnley side might make other leading clubs take note. Certainly the speculation this summer will attract more spotlight and analysis on his performances, which will help in in the long run.

Continued..

"The main difficulty is finance.

Every manager wants the players in early and to work with them.

We had a short pre-season this time which made it more of a challenge.

The group needs reinforcements, we lost players at the end of lockdown.

We are looking but it is not an easy situation and the finance is what it is."

Keeping Tarkowski will be a huge boost assuming he isn't going to
throw his toys out and affect his performances for us.
Don't think he will.

But we still still need another CB and CM to have a squad that compete.

Whether we get one or any is still an unanswered question.

Well it won't be Wet Spam paying that amount. Probably not Leicester either in the current environment.

Best for everyone if Tarky stays where he is, at least until we know when crowds might be allowed back and we can resume normal life a bit more.

I disagree.

Whilst keeping Tarkowski this window would be very good news indeed, we still badly need reinforcements in.

If we don’t get those bodies in, it will have been another bad transfer window.

Tarkowski is probably having second thoughts about going to West Ham. Their next league fixtures are:
Arsenal
Wolves
Leicester
Tottenham
Man City
Liverpool

I'd say it is quite possible they are on 0 pts after 7 games. Moyes will likely get sacked and then Tarks will have to deal with a new manager and a higher likelihood of being relegated than if he stays put.

Positive news as Tarks starting (even more so without Mee) is essential imo .

However try playing the Dyche clip backwards at 33rpm and it’s sounds like “ if he goes he goes , Garlick’s a Cnut anyway who yet again won’t back me to replace any that leave and nearly chinned him again this morning”...

Watching Spurs performance against Everton I think they need someone like Tarks..Doubt even Spurs would splash out 50 million in the present climate. He would be a great fit with Dier at his side.
BUT...I think and hope we can keep him.

He is good enough for Dyche to trust him every time a starting cb is injured and he was reportedly carrying an injury in the Brighton game. Played very well in the 2 previous games.

It's a very small minority.

Generally those who watch, and understanding football realise he isnt a premier league defender, and about 4th choice at a premier league club is about his level ( being generous)

Thankfully our manager also realises this.

I've still got visions of him standing on the ball against Bournemouth to gift them a winner and that Brighton goal last season.

Maybe he just doesn't like the last game of the season
