Superb performance from a very special Burnley team. Beautifully balanced side and strong in every position on the pitch. Lost just 4 of the 42 games that season and finished worthy Champions of Division Two. Perhaps not quite as good as the '59/'60 Champions but they would have run them very close.
Even finished 6th in Division One the following season with virtually the same side, the one exception being a certain Peter Noble who replaced an injured Mick Docherty at right-back.

I was standing at the bottom of the first support for roof of longside, Bee hole side. Remember it well :) Some games just stand out in memory.

I was 17 years old and we were scrapping with the Villa fans all over town. Same again in the cup in 74. It was also tasty when we won 3 0 at Villa Park in 73, later the same season as this game.
Some of the guys who post on here were with me at some or all of the games. You'd be surprised at some of them.........

Does it show Brian Miller playing toss the dwarf with a pitch invader. We were in stitches.

I knew you would respond P!
The away game was a bit hairy, especially when some of their fans boarded our special train. They weren't on for long though.
We had some right laughs and when I think of some of the scrapes we got into.....

Loved that clip thanks for sharing!
Dave Thomas and Leighton James were great and this was my favourite team.
I was 14 a Burnley fan living in Kent and I was regularly teased for being a Burnley fan.
