Kane's replacement? I don't see how they're going to fit Bale, Ings, Kane & Son into their line up without leaving themselves exposed defensively, and I can't see any of those willing to sit on the bench.

I doubt Ings would be reluctant to go in as first alternative to a starting front three, especially given their injury records and the amount of games they'll have this season

Whilst Southampton have had cash flow issues - I do not think Spurs have enough to buy Ings at a reasonable market rate- shame as the flow of money would see some come our way

Why would we see the flow of money come our way?

Did we have a "sell-on-sell-on" clause when we sold him to Liverpool?

We didn't sell him to Liverpool, they had to pay compensation due to his age. I can't see any way that we would be due anything 2 transfers further down the line......

Even if we did (which we didn't), we'd have got that when he then went to Southampton, it doesn't last for all future moves

Yep, my reply was really aimed at the original point of getting some money, not you! Just quoted you as you'd mentioned the sell-on :-)

Are you sure https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36165363

The way the the follow through of sell on works means we should have got 20% of the profit Liverpool made on the sale to Southampton - If that deal includes a sell on/add on, then we will get 20% of what Liverpool make on that. In much the same way that Luton profited from the sale of Andre Gray to Watford.

It is part of the trickle through of football - https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/ho ... rred-clubs

Southampton losing Ings would be a massive blow.
I hope it comes off, although I doubt it with Danny being a Southampton lad

Not good enough, injury prone and a waste of money.

Hasn’t he just played a full season and a half for southampton?
And I think he’s plenty good enough!

Sorry I was being sarcastic, just what some of the regulars used to post everytime his names was mentioned with a move.

The best forward I've seen play for is. Oozes class and was obvious he was going in to big things.

I bet liverpool would love him back, would be ideal as their 4th choice.

He was always good enough, but he was clearly injury prone at Liverpool.
Last season was his chance to prove he's full over those injuries and he is.
Doesn't mean any of us were wrong to say he was injury prone or a risky signing when he left Liverpool.
