Fulham had much the better of the game, but Leeds picked them off with decent chances.

First half the stats were well in Fulham's favour.
Then Merson came on and said Fulham were having had the best of the game.

Bamfords looking as good as the Leeds defence is looking dodgy. 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games is a pretty good start for a player deemed to be a hopeless cry baby on here

Fulham played some decent football but, the lapses at the back and giving poor balls away have been poor.
Leeds don't half press well though.

Re: Today's footie 19/9/20
Fulham don't look any better than their last trip to the PL, on this evidence they'll be heading back to the Championship ASAP.
Leeds are enjoying themselves, and why not, they've been impressive in their opening couple of games, albeit they've faced two porous defences, in Liverpool and Fulham, it's hard to judge them this early, but they'll surely face much tougher tests throughout the course of the season, and both look leaky at the back, which generally equates to a relegation battle.
4-3 now, it's entertaining, but unless both seriously sort their back lines out, they're going to struggle to pick up the required wins.

The Leeds love-in has been vomit-inducing at times. I was reading the BBC live feed and they weren't giving Fulham a chance once Leeds scored their first goal. Ooh Leeds...ooh...best team in the world. Give me a break, lol. Can't defend to save their lives, apparently.

Bournemouth beating Boro 1-0. Started off well and they still have a few good players.

I see Rovers did well.
Bolton lost again, the only reason they're not bottom of league 2 is their goal difference ain't as bad as the other teams with no wins.

Re: Today's footie 19/9/20
Rovers were only playing Wycombe today and we can't be sure of much after a couple of games.
We were rooted bottom after two games in 2009 (promoted via play-offs) and in 2015 we were 13th after two games having drawn them both. The following round of games saw us drop to 19th after a defeat. We later went 23 undefeated and went up as champions.
It's too early to be making definitive statements yet but it is worrying to see Rovers equipping themselves so well.

De Geas days are numbered. Controls one back pass and passes straight to a CP guy 20yds out. Then comes charging out and air kicks it, lucky to escape.

Watched the Leeds v Fulham game. If we give the pair of them a 10 pt start, we will still finish above them.

Re: Today's footie 19/9/20
We have got every chance of finishing above all 3 promoted sides, and as long as that's the case then obviously we'll be fine, I can also see us finishing above Brighton, Villa and West Ham if we strengthen in this window. As you rightly point out we've got plenty of nous at this level, and we know how to survive.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 6:00 pmWatched the Leeds v Fulham game. Funny when it happens against Man U, although they’ve got away with it, but it’s ruining the game. Games are being decided on these nonsensical decisions.

Re: Today's footie 19/9/20
How can a keeper stay on his line when the penalty taker stutters their run up or walks up to the ball. I know the penalty taker should have the advantage but I doubt we’ll see many legal penalty saves this season if something so minor is being penalised.

Dyche Junior
I see Sean Dyche's 17 year old son Max was an unused sub today for Northampton in their 2-1 win at Shrewsbury. I think that's the first time he's been in the first team match squad. If so congratulations to him. A very proud family tonight no doubt.

Re: Today's footie 19/9/20
You see it when keepers come clear off their line as the taker is about to kick it, but that was just the sort of distance you could jump forward without meaning too, because you're not looking at the line, you're looking at the ball/taker.

Re: Today's footie 19/9/20
I'm enjoying listening to super pundit Gary Neville as he almost breaks into tears. He's been whinging all the game about his beloved United not signing players like Liverpool or Chelsea have and now the dodgy penalty and the retake is wonderful viewing.
If Maguire is good enough for England then Tarks should be England's captain.

Doesn't matter unless he affects what happens from any rebound.
