I intimated on another thread that I had reservations about us signing Wilson. Yes he's a good 'dead ball' specialist but then again so is Brady. IMO he certainly wasn't what we needed. Yes the squad needed freshening up but it's not worth getting players in just for the sake of signing someone. If we'd have sold Tarks and replaced him with an average CD and added Wilson, I'm sure people would be coming on here saying it's been a good window. The biggest disappointment about this window for me is letting Gibson go when we have a problem in that area. I know there's issues but I'm certain there's also issues at all other clubs but they should be able to get resolved. Nothing is bigger than the club.

Why would anyone worry about 'Harry Wilson' when their own and their relatives future are about to be destroyed?

Exactly. I looked at this thread hoping to find a cure to Covid-19 too.

Ditto! To be fair I’m just glad that COVID has solved Brexit & ISIS, thank god they’ve gone away

Gibson wanted to go Gibson had to go, the only thing that would have kept Gibson interested is guaranteeing him a starting spot & dropping BM or JT never in a month of Sunday's that was going to happen.

And there asking for hand outs from the Premier league to bail them out
Precisely! why should we fund Cardiff's transfer spending, when they are a potential rival next season, either in the PL or the Championship, yes it's unfortunate that covid has hit the football industry, as it has every other industry, but why should we subsidise their spending, and even pre covid far too many Championship clubs were run like basket cases, hence the number going into administration and earning fines and points deductions, get your own houses in order, and then the PL might consider assisting you.

You can spin anything you like. We might as well close the entire board if we go off your thinking.

I just noticed in the MMT thread:

Reports say Cardiff are covering Harry Wilson's weekly wages of £60,000 plus paying a loan fee of £1.2m to Liverpool. Thus is in the Rob Wilson link in Chester Perry's post of 11:59 today. The information comes from Phil Blanche a reporter based in South Wales.

Will the PL clubs be subsidising Cardiff?

Has anyone been following the Championship more closely than me and any idea of how he did this season? I read an article in the Athletic that said he'd been doing pretty well (also said that we wouldn't be going back in for him).

I believe the person who went in for him no longer has that authority

Assume you mean Garlick. Or is Rigg going the same way as Neil Hart

11 assists & 7 goals (3 of those from a hat trick last week against Birmingham)

I've watched most of the highlights, which are clearly not a great reflection of his overall performance levels, but my basic summary is that he's a decent dead ball expert and has a turn of pace. I think he'd be a good signing because I think we'd do well from his corners and and I'm struggling to think when we last scored from a FK. He's no world beater though and suspect, like CT says, our interest was not from Sean so cannot see it happening now anyway.

On another note, Kenny has not been well received by the Celtic fans. Think we might've dodged a bullet there.

Thought so, although know you mentioned previously that Rigg's job was under scrutiny. Assume he's not going anywhere by the looks of things

Didn't he once have a bust up with Stan Ternant?
