Maybe wait until a takeover is complete or falls through , or whatever happens in the end whenever that may be, before deciding if someone did or don’t know something about it?

Yes, seems a novel concept on here. A bit like waiting to find out who takes over and what's involved before deciding if it's a good or bad thing.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 4:26 pmMaybe wait until a takeover is complete or falls through , or whatever happens in the end whenever that may be, before deciding if someone did or don’t know something about it?

Its the speaking in riddles that really irritates. If you've got something to tell, tell it, if you don't think you should, don't. If you've heard something interesting but are not sure, just say so.Targetman wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 12:49 pmHe certainly did like the attention it brought him on the takeover thread and was never forthcoming when people wanted "a bit more meat on the bone".
He liked to tease and regularly answered questions with other questions.
When pressed he said he wouldn't comment on here again but couldn't resist and was soon back with a few more teasers which he was questioned about. Again he said he wouldn't post on the takeover again.
Did he expect to post "confidential information" on this message board without getting a grilling?
His transfer info proved to be less than accurate which didn't do his case any good at all.

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
You usually can't do that without exposing your sources. DJW has given us plenty on this takeover, more than anyone else. Stop the abuse.
I've always found certain posters on here don't like it if they aren't the ones leaking the information.

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
Was wondering if SD has met up with either party, you would have thought both would want to know his intentions, possible targets....just a thought

You'd like to think he was in the loop somewhat, especially if they have different ideas on the way recruitment works, as from Seans previous transfers he has gone to the more experienced end of the scale in the main

That would be very interesting to know with the window only another few weeks off opening. Suppose the targets will depend on what backing is going to be available.

Abuse? What abuse?
I’m sure there are loads of people on this board who have heard certain things regarding this takeover (myself included only today) but I don’t come on here telling people how in the know I am and then answering other posters with cryptic answers. I am excited about what I have been told but I choose to keep what I know to myself because I have been told in good faith (and I know there’s a part of what I have just said that doesn’t make me any better than some of the others).

How long did it take Garlick to take over the club?
I know it wasn't in the public eye until complete, but someone might have known about the goings on?

If this all goes through will the players be coming out to living in America all draped in the star spangled banner at the next home game ala Apollo Creed or Tyson Fury

Exactly my point Tony. I’m sure you posted that post with solid intentions but something obviously changed at the last minute and made you look daft. Potentially similar has happened with DJWClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:18 pmI can't remember exactly what it was but there was something I knew, or thought I knew, and had been expecting it to be announced.

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
I have not followed much of what has been written on this thread and have no idea what will happen. We have had incredible success by using a business plan of just spending what we earn and having a manager that not only buys into this but also gets results on the pitch.
The model has allowed us to develop to a point where we now have somebody wanting to step in and buy us out, maybe because we have gone as far as we can without further financial backing.
I do always wonder what is the incentive for a foreigner to come to the club, pay £200 million to buy it and then pour millions more money into buying players. What is the pay back for them?

Some foreign investors will pay millions just to sit at the top table which is the Premier league.Money means nothing to them it's an ego trip to own a club in the Premier League.

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
Haven’t seen this posted. Comments from Mike Garlick in the Palace programme. More reassuring words:
"Any potential investment needs to support the club’s long-term sustainability and retain its position as a cornerstone of the local community.
"As custodian, you would expect nothing less from me and so, any final decision will only be made once we are satisfied all criteria have been met."

You have got the wrong end of the stick totally. Something at the time was happening, did happen, I’d said nothing but when it happened, given it had taken longer than I expected, I made the comment.
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
We may be talking about different occasions, this was something that never happened, I can’t remember the specifics which is frustrating but also not required.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 1:02 amYou have got the wrong end of the stick totally. My point, long winded as it may be, sometimes things look like they are 100% happening but at the last minute don’t

A platform for other ventures
Potentially huge advertising and marketing revenues
Premier League revenues of circa £150 million per year
Ownership of one of the oldest leagues clubs
Just a few reasons. To remain a local team for local people ( which is important) only with no outside investment means accepting lower league football some of the time.

Like “dry powder, cheeky bid, bet the ranch and next week” it’s a throw away comment amongst thousands that seem to become folklore.

I've no idea on timescales for these sort of things. But I was told that the deal is at the final stage as everything has been agreed.
I'm not suggesting I'm ITK because I'm not. But I have had a conversation with someone who has a lot more chance of being in the know and that's all I'm saying (not that I have much more to add).

Very close is what I'm told too Jakubs Tash although, like you, I don't know what very close means in terms of business acquisition. Someone suggested to me a couple of days ago that you need to check with the lawyers are working late nights.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:36 amI've no idea on timescales for these sort of things. The Ducker piece in the Telegraph a couple of days ago looks accurate from what I've heard - I would suspect Ducker has picked that up from the Elkashashy/Farnell side. I've spoken to someone who is in contact with ALK and he also used the words very close.
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
This may be a stupid question but when the takeover goes through, does anything happen with the existing sponsorship deals with Umbro and Lovebet?
