Matt has a box at Old Trafford. Make of that what you will?
Near enough every company I have worked for has had a corporate box/STs at Old Trafford.
They love taking clients there with all the stars on show.

He would if he wasn't a fan, surely.
Dave Fishwick claims he's a fan. But I don't think he likes football or would attend the Turf?

Another week goes by and the "should be done this week" line is trotted out again.
I'm not sure how many times people will believe it, even after 3 or 4 blatant porkies, but there's still some who cannot resist the bait.
I can only presume these people fall for the Nigerian distant relative who's a millionaire wanting to transfer them some money if they supply their bank details...

The article linked says he is
Articles at the time of the short sponsorship said he was, and wanted to get more involved, so I think it's safe to say he is a fan.
I’ve seen similar articles about sponsors being fans when they haven’t been. Seems our club must thing saying that makes it look better. I’m not saying that’s the case here but I don’t think it can either be said that it’s safe to say he’s a fan.

I think when you see direct quotes from him saying he is, you can be pretty certain, unless you want to disagree just because it's me.

Not because it's you, just that I know not to take things as the truth necessarily even if they are direct quotes. I've been quoted in the media when I've not even said a word on a subject so I'm bright enough not to believe such quotes.

You wouldn't believe a player if he said he'd always wanted to play for Burnley just after he'd signed.

Never mind any of that, what's the delay?
We are back to people saying they are in the know, offering conflicting stories and seemingly ignoring questions from people asking to know more.

Grumps he may be the biggest Burnley fan in the world, he may not give a toss about us, but I wouldn't take a comment on the day they are revealed as as our new sponsor, to say anything else. He was hardly likely to say anything else was he.

What do you want people to say?
That we’re posting from well constructed pseudonyms, to protect our real identities....
That our sources are:
Barry Kilby's son: I went to school with him
I work for the brokers firm that set the initial contact
I am a self made millionaire that has invested in the purchase.
I am a former professional footballer who now works as a scout for championship club
And so on and so on....

There is other stuff in the media to suggest he's a Burnley fan but to be honest it's irrelevant to the topic of this thread.

No idea at all what you are going on about.
It's quite simple, people have inferred there is a delay, they have been asked what it is, but not answered the question despite involving themselves further in the thread.

You’re all clambering for Ben, Tony, myself, or others to justify out sources, to give you the information we have. We have in bucketloads!
They don’t always tally, in fact they often conflict. But it is the nature of information that you very rarely have all the information to hand.
Some people sit on information, some share it.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds it with sarcasm, anger and hostility.
Take what you want from it.

As far as we are all aware this Hut guy is not involved in the potential take over of Burnley FC
So what does it matter if he's a Claret fan or maybe he supports Rovers!

Spot on
He was hardly going to say I have a box at Old Trafford and if I could have sponsored Utds shorts in stead I would have

Nobody has asked for sources today that I can see. I couldn't give a flying one who they are to be honest and haven't once asked.
What we have is one source saying it's done as of last Friday, one saying there is a delay. A couple of people have enquired "ok, what is the delay?".
I don't think it's a difficult question to answer, it may be that the answer is "I don't know" or it could be "I can't say"....the frustration comes from the question being ignored.

So, I’m reading that, DJW, as to the new owners are building PR content - in the absence of Fans in the stadium, promo and interview videos etc so that there’s a comprehensive launch to the community, beyond the fan base

I certainly said there had been a delay and that post was in response to DJW. I did think the deal was going to go through last week. It didn't, as we all know, and I'm not expecting anything imminently. Whatever the reason, and I can't detail it, it is not likely to be a show stopper from what I understand but I don't think we should be holding our breath.

Assume our current major shareholders are going to make serious profits when they sell then it's not to much surely for them to leave Sean a serious wedge to spend on our team
.The delay is in danger of derailing our much needed investment in time for a January spending spree

Just because someone’s business has a box at Old Trafford it doesn’t mean they are not a Burnley fan. I used to entertain clients clients at Old Trafford and Highbury but I don’t like Man Utd or Arsenal. It’s giving clients more choice of what they want to see. Doesn’t James Anderson watch Arsenal sometimes but he is still a Burnley fan. Just because someone is local, a fan and loaded doesn’t mean they necessarily wish to invest in the football club either. I would but that’s just me.

Because you are a fan - I'd do exactly the same but I'm a fan, not a businessman. One of our former chairmen used to have a box at Ewood because his business was Blackburn based. I can assure you that former chairman is a Claret.

This is a much better way to moderate in my opinion. Maybe the warning could remain hidden.
I agree it's a good way, but no reason to keep it hidden. If you have that poster on the Foe list, which I do with the poster above, you won't keep seeing it.

I can’t believe it’ll be MG holding up proceedings. He’s wanted rid for months and will be well aware of what could happen if our position in the league stays the same. I bet he hasn’t had a good nights sleep for weeks!
